In 2011 he faced a lawsuit from former employees of his restaurant for gross violation of labor laws especially in terms of overtime pay, which forced him to declare bankruptcy. In 2015, he also withdrew from restaurant The National after being provoked by comments from Donald Trump. This resulted in a lawsuit filed by Trump with a sum of $10 million, as yet unresolved.
