He is best known as one of the most successful TV chefs and cookbook authors, and is recognized as the host of reality shows like “The Restaurant” and “The Melting Pot”.

DiSpirito also graduated from Boston University, with a bachelor’s degree in business, then upon moving back to New York, he worked at “Lespinasse”, the four-star French restaurant which was one of the city’s most popular places during the ‘90s. However, in 1997, Rocco opened his own restaurant, “Union Pacific” and received all the best reviews for his cuisine, and was soon named “Best New Chef” by Food and Wine magazine. In addition to his television appearances, Rocco also hosted a radio program on a New York radio station and has written several more cookbooks, including “Rocco Gets Real”, which is also the title of his television show. More recently, he has hosted a weekly reality TV cooking competition, “Rocco’s Dinner Party’ in 2012, and is hosting the TV program “Now Eat This!” which debuted in September the same year. His other appearances include TV shows like “Castle”, “The Choice”, “Top Chef” and “Dancing with the Stars” in 2008, placing ninth with professional dancer Karina Smirnoff.

When it comes to his private life, Rocco was married to Natalie David, but the couple divorced in 2000. He was then engaged to actress Yvonne Scio, but the two also split up. Rumor has it that he is currently dating model Sena Cech.
