Who is Kwesi Adofo-Mensah?

American Football executive Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey USA, in October 1981, so his zodiac sign’s either Libra or Scorpio. He’s been working as a football manager since 2013, while the teams which he’s managed are the San Francisco 49ers, the Cleveland Browns and the Minnesota Vikings.

Prior to launching his career in football, Kwesi worked on Wall Street as a commodities trader and portfolio manager.

Education and early life

Kwesi was raised in Cherry Hill by his father who’s believed to be a businessman, and mother who’s believed to be an accountant; Kwesi hasn’t spoken about his parents in public, because they prefer to maintain their privacy, and as he hasn’t spoken about having siblings it’s believed that he’s an only child.

He grew up being focused on his education, as that was what his father urged him to do. Kwesi became interested in basketball while attending a local high school and was on the school’s team; he was into several other activities during his teenage years, including running track and dancing.

Upon matriculating in 2000, Kwesi enrolled at Princeton University in New Jersey, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2004; he was a walk-on for the university’ basketball team during his time there. Kwesi continued his education at Stanford University, graduating with a Master’s degree in economics in 2006.

Kwesi’s career

Prior to joining the National Football League (NFL) as a manager in 2013, Kwesi spent seven years working on Wall Street, however, not a lot about this period of his life is known.

In 2013, Kwesi had a chance to meet Paraag Marathe, who was the San Francisco 49ers executive vice president of football operations, and he was then chosen to work as manager of football research and development for the 49ers under head coach Jim Harbaugh and general manager Trent Baalke. Kwesi signed a four-year contract which was then renewed in 2017, when John Lynch was hired as the team’s new general manager; in the same year, he was promoted to director of football research and development.

In April 2020, Kwesi announced that he was leaving the 49ers, and on 15 May of the same year began working as vice president of football operations for the Cleveland Browns, under general manager Andrew Berry.

Kwesi was dissatisfied with the time he spent with the Browns, and thus after only two years on 26 January 2022, began working for the Minnesota Vikings as their general manager.

His second most popular video “Introducing: Inside the 2022 Minnesota Vikings Draft” was uploaded by Minnesota Vikings on 12 May 2022, and has since been viewed more than 60,000 times; it follows the Vikings’ 2022 NFL Draft process.

Kwesi’s #3 most viewed video – “Kwesi Adofo-Mensah on Becoming a GM, Vision For Building a Team and Hiring a Head Coach” – was uploaded by Minnesota Vikings on 27 January 2022, and features Kwesi making a guest appearance in a talk-show.

Presence on social media networks

Kwesi’s active on several social media networks, and has recently launched a new Instagram account, as his previous was deleted for unknown reasons; the new account’s followed by close to 300 people, while Kwesi’s uploaded only six pictures onto it.

He’s been active on Twitter since August 2021, and has tweeted close to 80 times, while he’s today followed by close to 13,000 people; his most recent tweet was on 23 February 2023.

Kwesi isn’t active on Facebook and TikTok, but many videos about him have been uploaded by various users onto TikTok, and all of these together have been viewed more than 5.5 million times.

Love life and wife

Kwesi rarely talks about his love life in public, but it’s known that he’s today married to American UX researcher and author Chelsea Keaulani Brown; the two haven’t disclosed the date of their wedding, but it’s believed that the ceremony took place in 2016.

Chelsea holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. and is perhaps known best for the children’s book “The Little Wahine” which she’s authored. She’s also had an impressive career, as she began working at Google as their researcher for the Looker Date Platform in March 2020, while she’s been working at YouTube as their UX researcher since May 2022.

Kwesi hasn’t mentioned other women whom he’s dated, he’s married to Chelsea Keaulani Brown as of March 2023, and they don’t have children.

Interesting facts and hobbies

Kwesi’s physically highly active as he often works out at the gym, and also occasionally plays basketball and tennis with his friends.

He’s passionate about travelling, and his career’s taken him to nearly all the US states, while Kwesi’s also been to several African and European countries – his favorite city to visit is Pisa, Italy.

He’s a philanthropist, and has donated money to several non-profit organisations which aim to bring sports closer to underprivileged children; Kwesi’s also an animal-lover, and has donated money to several animal shelters.

He likes to listen to jazz music, and his favorite musicians are Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong and Herbie Hancock.

Some of Kwesi’s favorite actors are Samuel L. Jackson, Laurence Fishburne and Danny Glover, and some of his favorite movies are the trilogy “The Matrix”, “Django Unchained” and “Pulp Fiction”.
