Drew is an American actress, singer, and reality TV star, perhaps best known to the world as Chantel in the TV series “That’s So Raven” (2004-2005) and as Lucy Avila in the film “Step Up” (2006), among many other roles that she has secured so far in her career.

Drew Sidora Jordan was born on 1 May 1985, in Chicago, Illinois, USA, the daughter of Dr. Robert Jordan and the Rev. Jeanette Jordan, a Journey to the Cross Ministries pastor. She grew up in a family of five children, with brother Bryan and three sisters, Christa, Edilah and Allison. Drew went to Rich Central High School, but didn’t pursue further education after matriculating, as her career had already started.

Career Beginnings

Drew was inclined towards acting from an early age; she was the youngest cast member at the Hook Players Theater Ensemble in Hollywood, California, USA. When she was just nine years old, Drew made her on-screen acting debut in the television drama movie “Divas” (1995), which starred Khalil Kain, Nicole Ari Parker and Tammy Townsend. After this initial appearance, she took time away from the entertainment industry to finish school. Drew returned as Angela in the TV series “What I Like About You” in 2003, and made her film debut the following year, in the action crime drama film “Never Die Alone”, with DMX, David Arquette and Michael Ealy in the lead roles.

The same year, she featured in the comedy film “White Chicks”, created by the Wayans Brothers, Keenan Ivory, Shawn, and Marlon Wayans, who also starred in the film. Moreover, she was selected for the role of Chantel in the Primetime Emmy Award-nominated TV comedy fantasy series “That’s So Raven”.

In 2006, Drew won the role of Lucy Avila in the crime-drama film “Step Up”, sharing the screen time with Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan and Damaine Radcliff, then the following year, she appeared in the award-winning action-adventure film “Wild Hogs”, which starred Tim Allen, Martin Lawrenc, and John Travolta.

“Chasing Waterfalls” in 2016 brought her another starring role as Olivia, and in 2017, Drew co-starred with Clifton Powell, Christian Keyes and Valarie Pettiford in the award-winning romantic mystery-drama film “The Preacher’s Son”. Drew dated record executive Ricky Bascom for a certain period of time and were even engaged, but called it off, although during their time together, she became pregnant, but they broke up before his birth. Ricky was in jail for cocaine possession when she gave birth to their son, Josiah, however, Ricky’s never accepted him as his child.

In 2013, Drew met Ralph Pittman, composer, founder and CEO of wellness company, My Mind Music, and a strategist at Gartner.

The two began dating, and in less than a year, married on 21 August 2014. Ralph accepted Josiah as his own and adopted him, and since the wedding, Drew has given birth to Machai David and Aniya Grace.
