David Banner Net Worth $12 Million

David Banner Jackson, was actually raised in Jackson, Mississippi, where he matriculated from Provine High School in 1992, and then graduated from Southern University with a BA in business in 1996. So David was not to begin his career as a professional performer until he was already a young adult, although his first more serious attempts at rapping came when he was studying in Southern University, where he and a few of his friends started sending recorded examples of their rapping to a radio station in Banner’s native Jackson. In due time, this would yield Banner’s first album – in 1999, David released “Grey Skies” as part of a collaboration with fellow rapper Kamikaze. The album drew enough attention to entice Banner to leave his master’s degree studies in university for a full time career, and he would soon produce his first solo album – “Them Firewater Boyz, Vol. 1” – in 2000. When one of the singles from the album, titled “Like a Pimp”, made it big on radio, Banner was set on the road to further success and rising net worth, confirmed with the success of his albums..

Since then, David Banner has signed with the recording label “Universal Studios”, a partnership that opened the way to four more albums – “Mississippi: The Album” (2003), “MTA2: Baptized in Dirty Water” (2003), “Certified” (2005), and “The Greatest Story Ever Told” (2008). In 2003, Banner first collaborated with another major rapper, Lil’ Flip, to release a renewed version of his first successful single, “Like a Pimp”, and it went on to make it into the top half of the Hot 100 chart. Several of Banner’s singles have made it to the top of the charts, including “Play” in 2007 and “Get Like Me” in 2008 – which has certainly contributed to Banner’s growing fame and his net worth.

Of late, the star rapper has also made several appearances in various films and television series, including Lee Daniels’s 2013 historical drama “The Butler”, in which Banner featured alongside lead actor Forest Whitaker and famous media personality Oprah Winfrey. Most recently, in 2014, David Banner appeared in the hit comedy “Ride Along”, starring alongside main stars Ice Cube and Kevin Hart.

Today in his personal life, there is no hint of relationships, but in the past few years, Banner has been noted for his participation in a Congress investigation into racism and misogyny in hip hop, publicly defending the use of vulgar language in songs and claiming that “hip hop is only sick because America is sick.”
