Early life

Creed Romello Lopez, nicknamed “Lope” and “Mello,” was born on 30 July 2020 in Dover, Delaware State USA. According to E! Online, he was born at home at 2.47 p.m., measured 22.5ins (0.57cm), and weighed 8lbs 15oz or about 4kgs – his mother chose his name because it meant ‘guiding principle.’

Creed’s father is podcast host and media personality Christopher “Chris” Lopez, who was also born in Dover. His mother was born on 14 March 1992 in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, US. Kailyn admitted to People that her pregnancy, which was documented in several episodes of “Teen Mom 2,” was close to being terminated because she had relationship troubles. She kept it a secret for the first half of the season, mostly because she feared the audience’s reaction to a potential abortion.

Kailyn said in the episode that seeing the ultrasound image at the abortion appointment convinced her that Creed deserved to be born, even if she had to become a single mother of four and carefully manage a high-risk pregnancy, as she was anemic. Anemia is a disorder that causes a low number of red blood cells, which was dangerous for Kailyn because she risked losing too much blood during delivery.

Siblings

Creed’s parents met around 2016, and welcomed Creed’s only biological sibling, brother Lux Russell Lowry, on 5 August 2017 in Dover.

Creed’s older maternal half-brother, Isaac Elliot Rivera, was born on 18 January 2010 in Nazareth from his mother’s relationship with Jonathan “Jo” Rivera, whom she started dating two years earlier. Isaac’s birth was the subject of the “16 & Pregnant” TV episode aired on MTV in 2010.

Creed also has a maternal half-brother, Lincoln Marshall Marroquin, who was named after rapper Eminem’s real name when he was born on 16 November 2013 to Kailyn and Javi Marroquin, to whom Creed’s mother was married from 2012 to 2017. Creed became an older brother to a half-sibling, Trew Christopher Lopez, mostly likely born in January 2021 from his father’s relationship with an unnamed woman. He also has a younger maternal half-brother, Rio Scott, born in November 2022, and unnamed twin siblings, brother and sister, born between November 2023 and January 2024; all three come from his mother’s relationship with Elijah Scott, whom she started dating in April 2022.

Career

Creed’s parents have been in an off-and-on relationship since Lux’s birth, but Chris didn’t appear in “Teen Mom 2.” The two quarreled often, and their relationship only deteriorated when they welcomed Creed, as Kailyn stated that she cut contact with Chris shortly before delivery. According to People, Creed’s birth helped her realize that certain people were toxic and that she let them stay to the point of losing herself.

The first controversy happened when Creed was a few days old; Kailyn revealed via Instagram that she created a smoothie from her placenta, the organ that develops in the uterus and delivers nutrients and oxygen to a baby, mixed with almond milk and fresh fruits.

Furthermore, shortly before Creed’s first birthday, Kailyn made another controversial decision to create an official Instagram account, @creedlowrylopez, which she later renamed @mellolowry, and on which Creed has amassed over 56,500 followers. That wasn’t the first time; she was known for tagging the children’s Instagram accounts on pictures and videos on her profile, @kaillowry, and using them to sell products. Consequently, Kailyn promoted her Yeah Baby Goods Kail Lowry Collection clothing on the first post on Creed’s profile, dating to 26 June 2021.

In many other posts, she promoted the sale of clothing items that were part of Creed’s outfit of the day (OOTD) or child-safe products that Creed used, such as Public Goods. However, her fans defended her decision, reminding others that Kailyn has been under the spotlight since the age of 16 and wanted to share her children’s lives with her fans and slowly build a family brand.

Family domestic abuse

According to The US Sun, in September 2020, Kailyn started an Instagram Live livestream and began to rant. At one point, clearly referencing Chris, she said that ‘a person could choke her, burn her book, and cheat on her, but the second they do something to her child and use it as a manipulation tool, she would rise to defend herself.’

Several accusations preceded that statement. For instance, she accused Chris of inconsistent parenting and attending parties in Miami, Florida, US, instead of paying for medical bills for Lux or Creed. She advised him to ‘stay gone if he plans to come around when convenient, then drop off for a few weeks when it isn’t.’ Moreover, Kailyn accused Chris of getting another woman pregnant.

According to The US Sunon 26 September, Kailyn was arrested for domestic violence because she punched Chris on 4 September with a closed fist, reportedly because he cut Lux’s hair without her permission or input. Chris did not fight back, and she left, mainly because his family, including his sister and mother, were there. Kailyn was released without bail, and the judge issued a no-contact order. Chris defended himself, saying that he only cut a bit of the edges, and that Kailyn should be happy that he didn’t ‘scalp his ass,’ and can he make decisions as a father without asking her.

Custody battle

In late 2020, Kailyn initiated a court battle to win full custody of Lux and Creed while Chris demanded split guardianship. In the “Baby Mamas No Drama” podcast episode from September 2021, Kailyn stated that her legal battle cost her about $80,000 in lawyer’s fees.

According to US Magazine, in May 2023, Kailyn accused Chris of ‘trying to kill her while she was pregnant with Creed because he suddenly pushed her face into the couch and tried to smother her.’ She reportedly fought back by turning her head and gasping for air but didn’t call the police. Chris subsequently started a livestream via TikTok and admitted that her story wasn’t entirely false, that he choked her, and that domestic violence was on his record. However, he denied almost killing her.

Potential babysitter issues

In many Instagram posts, Kailyn praised the family’s babysitter, Natalie K., for feeding Creed high-quality food and ensuring that he remained happy. However, according to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Natalie allegedly posted an Internet meme about Kailyn in 2023, a quote that read, ‘You’re a great mom on Facebook. Too bad you’re a horrible one in real life.’ Moreover, Chris reposted the meme on his profile, hinting that he agreed.

According to US Magazine, Chris previously called Kailyn miserable and accused her of keeping their two sons from him, not allowing him to attend parent-teacher conferences, and passing her children to nannies. However, Kailyn has always been on good terms and called Natalie ‘one of the best people in her life’ during their trip to Thailand in March 2023.

Passions and interests

Creed enjoyed swimming with an inflatable ring and has shown interest in footballbaseball, and basketball, primarily by watching his older siblings. His mom calls him an angel, and Creed enjoys cuddling with Lux, with whom he had a special bond. Interestingly, despite Kailyn claiming that Creed was afraid of heights, he laughed when her babysitter’s son repeatedly threw him in the air and grabbed him. Moreover, Kailyn’s fans frequently commented about Creed’s bedhead hair, so she joked about it in many posts.

In September 2021, Kailyn enrolled Creed in a pre-kindergarten program, during which he had three-hour play care sessions. Around that time, she shared that he became a fan of dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets and spaghetti.

In 2022, Kailyn shared that Creed enjoyed playing video games with Lux and became fascinated by cars, scooters, and trucks. Consequently, the family bought several toy vehicles for him to play with at home, and a black Mercedes-Benz mini-car to drive outside. Creed also enjoyed climbing into empty delivery boxes and playing with the family’s pets, dog Gizmo and an unnamed gray cat.

For Halloween 2022, he wore an Iron Man costume, suggesting he became a Marvel Comics superhero fan. Furthermore, he’s played with Spider-Man toys and dressed as Robin, while his brother Lux wore a Batman suit for Halloween in 2023, implying that both like DC Comics characters equally.

In early 2023, Kailyn posted a picture of Creed wearing a fake World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) championship belt, and dubbed Lux and Creed ‘the next WWE tag team.’ That implies that the brothers eagerly watched wrestling matches, and Lux confirmed that, when he started wrestling training in January 2024. Creed joined preschool in 2023, and Kailyn reported that he was thriving.

Physical characteristics

Creed has curly light brown hair and dark brown eyes. He’s 3ft 3.5ins (1.05m) tall and weighs about 35lbs (16kgs), as of early 2024.
