Marquardt was born in Tillamook, Oregon but moved to California where she grew up. In fifth grade, her parents broke up causing Marquardt, her mother and brother Edward to move to her stepfather’s ranch. In 1990, Marquardt left Lodi High School, and then gained an Associate Degree from San Joaquin Delta College. She took further studies and graduated with her BA degree in Communications with an emphasis on public relations from California State University, Sacramento and by 2001, she had her Masters in Communications from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
Marquardt’s first taste of the “Playboy” experience was when she joined the “Playboy’s Millennium Playmate Search” in 1998, but was unsuccessful twice. While waiting for another opportunity to get featured in the famed men’s magazine, Marquardt moved to Los Angeles, California in 2001 and did a little modeling and some acting roles. In 2002, after a couple of visits, she was finally invited to live in the Playboy Mansion to be one of the girlfriends of Hugh Hefner. Her net worth began to rise.
The show “The Girls Next Door” started Marquardt’s career in Hollywood, giving her a name and increasing her net worth. The show follows the day to day lives of Marquardt and the two other ‘girlfriends’, Holly Madison and Kendra Wilkinson, and Hugh Hefner himself. The show only lasted for five seasons, but it gave plenty of opportunity for Marquardt. Aside from being one of the main cast of the show, she also posed a couple of times for Playboy Magazine, together with Madison and Wilkinson.
During her stay in the ‘Mansion’, Marquardt also graced other movies and shows increasing her visibility and net worth. She was included in the movie “Kottentail” and did an episode for the television show “Curb Your Enthusiasm” in 2005. Other projects that Marquardt did are the TV show “Entourage”, “The Man Show”, “Celebrity Paranormal Project” and the movie “The House Bunny” with actress Anna Faris. She also started her radio show “Bridget & Wednesday Friday Show” in 2007.
After leaving the Playboy Mansion, she secured her own show on the Travel Channel, entitled “Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches” in 2009, but unfortunately the show only lasted for one season. Marquardt also tried to do her own reality show, documenting her life after staying at the Playboy Mansion, similarly unsuccessfully.
Marquardt keeps herself busy with various appearances on television and in 2012 worked as a contributor to Yahoo’s “Animal Nation” series.
In her personal life, when Marquardt was 23 she married Chad Marquardt, but they divorced after two years when she decided to move to Los Angeles. The two have stayed friends, and Marquardt said in an interview that her former husband was very supportive of her decision. In 2008, Marquardt started seeing Nicholas Carpenter. The two are still together and are living in Sherman Oaks.
