Who is Marlo Kelly?

Australian actress, model and social media personality Marlo Kelly was born under the zodiac sign Scorpio on 21 November 2000, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She has seven acting credits, and is perhaps known best for playing one of the lead characters Beth Cassidy in all 10 episodes of the mystery crime thriller series “Dare Me”, created by Gina Fattore and Megan Abbott, and which also starred Herizen F. Guardiola and Willa Fitzgerald. The series aired in 2019 and 2020, and follows the life of Colette French, a new cheerleading coach at a local high school.

Marlo was raised in Sydney by her Australian parents; she respects her mother and father’s privacy as they prefer to be left out of media. Marlo’s believed to be an only child as she’s yet to talk about having siblings.

She became passionate about acting while still attending a local elementary school, appearing in a number of plays performed at the school. Marlo was 14 when she launched her acting career, playing Skye Peters in 43 episodes of the long-running romantic series “Home and Away”, created by Alan Bateman and which today stars Emily Symons, Lynne McGranger and Ray Meagher. It follows the lives of people from the small coastal town of Summer Bay near Sydney, the series has aired over 8,200 episodes since 1988 and has won 50 of its 169 award nominations.

Marlo matriculated from a local high school in 2019, and then continued pursuing acting rather than enrolling at college.


Roles in movies

Marlo’s debut film role was playing Mira, one of the main characters in the 2016 short horror “Vampir”, written and directed by Anya Beyersdorf, and which also starred Ben Ingram and Tony Rogers; it follows the arrival of a strange loner in a small town.

In 2017, Marlo starred as Poppy in the short drama “Nobody Hangs Out Anymore”, written and directed by Lizzie Dingle, and which also starred Juliette Beck and Karina Banno; it follows two best friends who’ve left everything behind them and have moved to Sydney.

Marlo’s only other film role has been starring as Beth in the 2019 short drama “Chlorine”, written and directed by Melissa Anastasi, and which also starred Tasma Walton and Ezekiel Simat. It follows a neglected 11 years old girl as she’s stealing from pregnant women at a local swimming pool – the movie won two of its six award nominations.

Roles in TV series

In 2018, Marlo starred as Patricia Moore in all 10 episodes of the horror “Patricia Moore”, which also starred Les Hill and Danielle Cormack, and follows 16 years old girl as she’s struggling to feed her cannibal family, while she’s now been inspired to lead a normal life by Toby; the series won 11 of its 21 award nominations.

Marlo’s only other TV series role has been playing Jamie Murdock in seven episodes of the 2022 biographical crime comedy mini-series “Joe vs. Carole”, created by Etan Frankel, and which starred Brian Van Holt, John Cameron Mitchell and Kate McKinnon. It follows the conflict between zoo operator Joe Exotic and big-cat rescuer Carole Baskin; the mini-series was nominated for a 2022 Queerty Award for Next Big Thing.


Awards and nominations

Marlo’s won four of her six award nominations. She won two NZ Web Fest Awards in 2018 for Best Actor: International Narrative and Best Ensemble: International Narrative, as well as a 2018 Minnesota Web Fest Jury Award for Best Dramatic Performance and a 2018 Rio WebFest Jury Award for Best Ensemble Cast, all four for her performance in “Patricia Moore”.

Marlo was also nominated for a 2018 Melbourne Web Fest Award for Best Leading Actor, for “Patricia Moore”, and a 2023 St. Kilda Film Festival Award for Best Film, for “By Lucas Wilson”.

Marlo’s today also a model, although not many details about her modelling career have been disclosed; it’s known that she’s today signed to United Talent Agency and has posed for several brands.

Marlo doesn’t usually talk about her love life in her interviews; most of her fans believe that she’s today focused on her career and isn’t pursuing love.

There are also those who believe that Marlo might be lesbian, claiming that a girl whom she often features in her Instagram content might be her girlfriend; Marlo’s yet to address these rumors, and no evidence has been provided to support them.

Some believe that Marlo’s today in a relationship with her high school sweetheart, as some of the rumors circulating the internet claim that the two  have recently been seen partying together at a local nightclub in Sydney; this hasn’t been confirmed either.
