Asa Butterfield Net Worth $5 Million

Asa was born to Jacqueline Farr and Sam Butterfield, and since from an early age became focused on acting. When he was seven years old, Asa acted at the Young Actors` Theater Islington, mostly after school, and just two years later made his screen debut in the drama film “After Thomas”, as Andrew, which featured Keeley Hawes and Ben Miles as leads. In 2007 he had a small role in Garth Jennings` “Son of Rainbow”, only to then obtain a lead role in the Mark Herman`s war drama “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas”, next to David Thewlis and Rupert Friend. In the process, Asa proved better than hundreds of children, which showed how talented he is. From that point on, his net worth has only gone upwards.

In 2010, Asa appeared in the fantasy horror “The Wolfman” as the lead character`s young version, while the adult alter ego was portrayed by Benicio Del Toro. The same year Asa had a supporting role in the comedy “Nanny McPhee Returns”, next to Maggie Gyllenhaal, Emma Thompson and Ralph Fiennes, and the next year he landed the lead role of Hugo Cabret in Scorsese`s “Hugo”. The role only further increased his net worth and put his name on the Hollywood map; he received high praises for his portrayal, and was also nominated for the Saturn Award in the category Best Performance by a Younger Actor.

He continued to feature as a lead in high profile films, and in 2013 he portrayed Ender Wiggin in the sci-fi action “Ender`s Game” with Harrison Ford and Hailee Steinfeld, and a year later he appeared as Nathan Ellis in Morgan Matthews` drama “A Brilliant Young Mind”, and most recently he was cast as Jake in Tim Burton`s “Miss Peregrine`s Home for Peculiar Children” (2016). He is currently working on several projects, including the films “The Space Between Us” starring Britt Robertson, Janet Montgomery and Carla Gugino, which will be released in 2017, and another lead in “The House of Tomorrow”, which is also projected for 2017 release.

Thanks to his skills, Asa has received several prestigious nominations and awards, including the Young Hollywood Award in category Breakthrough Performance – Male, for the film “Hugo”.

Regarding his personal life, Asa was in a relationship with actress Ella Purnell in 2015, but for the time being he is single. Other details about his young life are unknown in the media.

Quotes

#Quote
1I always think that trying to push yourself as an actor in a direction that you've never been before, developing characters which are more difficult to get into the head of, or are more interesting and further away from yourself, is always a challenge. But, you want to take up that challenge and try your best.
2People think when you're moving in Zero-G, it's like moving in jelly. But it's not. You're completely free to move however fast as you want.
3When you have a book as material as it is, it's a lot easier to create a character because you have so many resources to draw upon when acting.
4My little sister, who is four, can work my mom's iPhone better than she can.
5I think I can speak for a lot of people in that they would be pretty nervous about meeting Harrison Ford, and I was definitely one of those people.
