Anita Goldberg was born in 1952, in Charleston, South Carolina USA, and is a businesswoman who as Anita Zucker became known through being the now former Chief Executive Officer of the Hudson’s Bay Company, and now as the CEO and Chair of InterTech Group Inc.

Zucker, born of Jewish ancestry, is a daughter of Holocaust survivors. She studied at the University of Florida from where she graduated with a degree in Education. She later continued her education and obtained a Masters of Education degree from the University of North Florida, majoring in Educational Administration and Supervision.

Zucker’s early career started as an elementary school teacher for ten years. She later entered the world of business and sat as the Director of Community Relations of The InterTech Group Inc. In 1994, she also became a co-owner of the South Carolina Stingrays, an ice hockey team, and is still so today. The early years of her career helped jumpstart her success and her net worth.

Unfortunately, Zucker’s husband Jerry, former CEO and Chair of Hudson Bay Company, died in 2008. She later took over the company and became the only woman in its history to sit in those positions. Although Zucker only stayed at Hudson Bay for less than year, she then joined InterTech Group Inc. as its CEO and Chair from 2008 and until today. Her efforts and long career in business all helped tremendously in her wealth.

Today, Zucker is still active the world of business and is known as the only billionaire living in South Carolina.

In terms of her personal life, Zucker was married to Jerry Zucker, also a prominent businessman, from 1970 until Jerry’s death in 2008, due to brain tumour. The couple had three children, Jonathan, Andrea, and Jeffrey.

Aside from her business ventures, Zucker is also well known as a philanthropist. Some of the organizations that she helps include Coastal Community Foundation, Trident United Way, Porter-Gaud School, and MUSC Foundation, sitting in the organizations’ board. She is also known as a trustee of the Jewish Endowment Fund and the Saul Alexander Foundation. She also made headlines when she donated $4 million to The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. The Citadel dedicated its School of Education to Zucker and her family, and named it after them.
