Andy Rubin Net Worth $200 Million

Andy grew up in his hometown, and attended the Horace Greeley High School, after matriculating enrolling at Utica College in Utica, New York and graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science in 1986.

Immediately after he obtained his degree, Andy got a job as robotic engineer for Carl Zeiss AG. He served in that position for the next three years, after which he became manufacturing engineer for Apple Inc., where he spent the next three years. From 1992 until 1995 Andy was engineer at General Magic – which is a spin-off from Apple – developing Magic Cap, an operating system for mobile ‘phones. However, the new operating system failed to make an impact on the market, and Andy then joined MSN TV as an engineer, and worked for the company until 1999. His net worth was rising steadily.

The same year he started Danger Inc., with the help of Joe Britt and Matt Hersenson, which is a company making mobile devices and operating systems; the most notable product was Danger Hiptop, a mobile phone which incorporates PDA-like abilities. Andy left Danger Inc. in 2003, and started what would become the leading operating system for mobile phones, Android Inc., alongside Rich Miner, Chris White and Nick Sears. Only two years later Android Inc. was bought by Google, and Andy was retained as Senior Vice-President in charge of Android, and served in that position until 2014, having boosted his net worth considerably.

That year, Andy left Google, and founded another company of his own, Playground Global, which is a venture fund and design studio that focuses on providing resources and mentoring for start-ups that produce hardware devices. So far, Andy`s Playground Global has invested in such companies as CastAr, Connected Yard, eero, Nervana Systems, SubPac and Nauato.

His latest development is as a partner in Redpoint Ventures – throughout his career, Andy has produced numerous innovations in both software and hardware, and has patented a number of inventions, including the electronic device with hinge mechanism, activating applications based on accelerometer data, and mobile device-based bandwidth throttling among others. All his ventures have had a positive effect on his net worth.

Regarding his personal life, little is known about Andy, except for the fact that he is married to Rie, but details of their marriage are unknown in the media.
