Hugh Michael Jackman was born on 12 October 1968, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; he’s the son of English parents Christopher John Jackman and Grace McNeil, who came to Australia a year before his birth as a part of the immigration of British citizens to the country following the Second World War. He is the youngest of five siblings and has a younger half-sister from his mother’s second marriage, as his parents divorced when he was eight years old. He remained in Australia with his father and brother, while his mother returned to the UK with his sisters.
