Who is Christel Khalil?

Christel Adnana Mina Khalil was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 30 November 1987 – her zodiac sign’s Sagittarius, and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress with 19 credits to her name, but one of which has been portraying Lily Winters Ashby in the romantic drama “The Young and the Restless” since 2002. The soap opera was created Lee Phillip Bel and William J. Bell, stars Eric Braeden, Peter Bergman and Doug Davidson, and follows the Abbott and Newman families living in Genoa City, It’s been airing since 1973, today counting over 12,500 episodes, while it’s won 298 of the 1,038 awards for which it’s been nominated.

Early life and education

Christel was raised in Los Angeles alongside her three older brothers, by their Pakistani father and mother of Native American, African-American and European descent; not a lot is known about Christel’s family, as she respects their privacy, but she does have a younger paternal half-sister.

She became interested in acting at a very early age, and was only five years old when she made her debut TV series appearance, in the 1993 episode “My Daughter’s Keeper” of the family comedy “The Sinbad Show”; Christel was seven when she made her debut film appearance, playing Little Girl in the 1995 action science fiction “Dragon Fury”, written and directed by David Heavener, and which starred Richard Lynch, Robert Chapin and Chona Jason. It follows dragon warrior Mason who’s travelled back in time from the year 2099 to 1999, in search of a cure for The Plague.

Christel continued acting throughout her entire education. She studied at a local high school in Los Angeles, and upon matriculating in 2006 didn’t enroll at college, but chose to instead pursue her acting career.

Christel played Child in Classroom in the popular 1996 family fantasy comedy “Matilda”, directed by Danny DeVito, who also starred in it alongside Rhea Perlman and Mara Wilson; it follows a girl who has psychic powers, and the movie won three of the 10 awards for which it was nominated.

Christel played Diana in the 1997 short drama “You’re Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley’s Christmas Party”, and portrayed Young Claire Mullins in the 1998 horror “Milo”.

In 2002, she was cast to play Babysitter in the drama “Interview with the Assassin”, written and directed by Neil Burger, and which starred Dylan Haggerty, Raymond J. Barry and Renee Faia. It follows former Marine Walter Ohlinger who has things to say about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and the movie won two of the five awards for which it was nominated.

Between 2004 and 2006, she voiced one of the lead characters Cornelia Hale in the animated action adventure “W. I. T. C. She exchanged vows with American musician Stephen Hensley in September 2008, in a large ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members; American actor Bryton McClure was the groomsman, while American actress and cast member of “The Young and the Restless” Elizabeth Hendrickson was the bridesmaid. Christel gave birth to their son Michael Caden Hensley on 17 April 2010, and the boy’s godparents are the above-mentioned actor Bryton and American actress Fadhia Marcelin. However, Christel and Stephen divorced in 2011.

From 2011 to 2015, Christen was in a relationship with American bar owner Ray Wicks, and in June 2018, she revealed that she’d been in a relationship with Canadian businessman Sam Restagno for two years. In 2019, Christen and her son moved in with Sam in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but she moved back to Los Angeles a year later.

As of August 2022, Christel’s apparently still in a relationship with Sam Restagno, was once married to Stephen Hensley, and has a son with him.
