Comedian Christopher Paul Anthony ‘Chris’ Distefano rose to prominence with his debut one-hour-long special “Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist”, released by Comedy Central on 8 January 2019. However, long before that, he began performing stand-up and was a finalist at the New York City Comedy Festival, USA in 2011.
Concurrently with his stand-up, Chris launched his acting career and is perhaps known best for his role as Anthony in the series “Benders”, also starring Andrew Schulz and Lindsey Broad.
Early life, parents, and education
Chris was born under the zodiac sign of Virgo, on 26 August 1984, in Brooklyn, New York City; he holds American nationality, although he comes from a family of German, Italian and Irish descent. Chris grew up in Ridgewood, near Queens, New York, and was raised by both of his parents until they divorced.

Career as a stand-up comedian
Chris began performing stand-up at the comedy club Carolines on Broadway, New York, in 2009. He also performed at Gotham Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Comedy Cellar, Laugh Lounge, and New York Comedy Club.
In 2012, Chris joined the cast of “Guy Code”, a Music Television (MTV) reality comedy series that featured various athletes, pop-culture entertainers, comedians and experts who would tell the stories of the special code of conduct that exists between straight men.
Chris also made an appearance in other MTV shows, including “Guy Code vs. Girl Code”, “Guy Court”, and “The Challenge”. In 2013, he was a guest on “Late Night with David Letterman”.
Chris hosted the “Ultimate Beastmaster” game show in 2017, in which 18 contestants from six countries competed for cash prizes by overcoming difficult obstacles.
Chris began touring and performing all over the world after Comedy Central aired his comedy special in 2019. His debut performance at the Beacon Theatre, a famous Broadway entertainment venue, was sold out in record time in February 2022. His first two performances at the Gramercy Theatre in March 2022 were also sold out.
His second special, entitled “Speshy Weshy” premiered on Netflix in May 2022.
Acting career
Chris made his acting debut in the 2010 short movie “Is This Thing On”, an hilarious story about a struggling comedian Paul, and a struggling writer Lou, who when they are together struggle even more. Although the movie had no nominations, it was well-rated by the audience.
In the following year, Chris was seen in an episode of the series “Celebrity Close Calls”, then followed with his role as Tommy Jordano in the 2013 short comedy “Staten Island Truffle Hunter”, which he co-wrote with Zach Drummer.
Next, he was seen in the 2014 short drama “Breaking In”, also starring Paul Bomba and Kareem Farmer.

As mentioned, Chris starred in the 2015 comedy series “Benders”, which followed the story of a group of friends irrationally obsessed with their favorite ice hockey team.

When the two separated, Chris began dating his future wife, Jazzy Canuelas, a Zumba and fitness instructor. She was born on 17 April 1984, which as of 2022, makes her age 38. She’s a Brooklyn native too, and comes from a family of Puerto Rican descent. The two met in 2013, but since at that time Chris was in a relationship, Jazzy decided to keep silent about her feelings.
Subsequently they began dating, and on 13 February 2015, they exchanged their wedding vows. In May of that same year, Jazzy gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Delilah, and their second daughter, Violette Luna, was born in June 2021.
