Who is Zeeko Zaki?

If you are a fan of the action crime drama series “FBI”, you are certainly familiar with the character of Special Agent Omar Adom ‘OA’ Zidan, a confident and brave agent, but you may not be aware of the fact that the actor who portrays this character has a lot in common with him. In the series, OA is an American citizen of Egyptian descent, is a Muslim, fluent in both English and in Arabic, and so is the actor who plays this character, Zeeko Zaki.

Zeeko was born under the zodiac sign of Aquarius on 18 January 1990, in Alexandria, Egypt;  when he was a month old, his parents immigrated to the USA, thus he holds American nationality, and his ethnicity is of mixed Egyptian, Turkish and Syrian descent.

He’s a model, as well as an actor with over 20 credits to his name, and besides the mentioned role, he is perhaps known best as Hamid in the series “24: Legacy”, and as Akmal Barayev in the series “Six”.

Early life and education

Zeeko was raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania by his parents, alongside his younger sister and brother; he hasn’t revealed of their names, but it’s known that his mother is the owner of a beauty salon, and his father is a hairstylist.

Zeeko has spoken about his childhood, saying that it was hard growing up in a primarily white town after 9/11, saying that he was often bullied and teased for his looks, however, as he said, he overcame that, adding that he is an Arab-American patriot who loves his country. Most of his extended family still live in Egypt, and as a child, he spent summers in his hometown.

Zeeko began acting in plays during his high school days, and after his role in the musical comedy “Seussical”, he realized that acting was something that he wanted to do for a living; he also performed with the theatre group Unionville Players in the local theatre.

He attended Unionville High School, and upon matriculating in 2008, enrolled at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from which he graduated with a BA degree in 2011.

Roles in movies

Zeeko made his acting debut in the short movie “The Therapy Session” in 2012, followed by his role as Gus in “Stuck in Love”, also starring Lily Collins, Greg Kinnear, and Jennifer Connelly, and was next seen starring in “Heart of the Country” in 2013.

In the following years, he was cast in some short movies, such as “McDuffy: The Urban Eagle” and “Tuesday”, before his role as an Afghan Policeman in the 2015 movie “Max”, written and directed by Boaz Yakin. The same year, Zeeko was seen in the animated family comedy “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip”, followed by his role in “Allegiant” in 2016, and then two years later, he starred in “Escape Plan 2: Hades”, alongside Sylvester Stallone, Xiaoming Huang and Dave Bautista, which was his most recent movie role.

Roles in series

Zeeko made his first television appearance portraying a Sergeant in the series “Homeland” in 2012, followed by his role in “Revolution” in the same year, and he next guest-starred in “Under the Dome” in 2013, and in “The Game” in ’14.

In the following year, he was cast to play Russell in “Satisfaction”, and two years later, he portrayed Akmal Barayev in “Six”, concurrently with his roles in “24: Legacy”, “The Night Shift”, and “NCIS: Los Angeles”.

Zeeko had a recurring role as Sergeant Matt Darzi in the series “Valor” in 2017 and ’18, before he was cast to play his most notable role to date, as Special Agent Omar Adom ‘OA’ Zidan in the series “FBI”, which is currently airing on the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) channel. Zeeko reprised his role in “FBI: Most Wanted” in 2020, and “FBI: International” in 2021.

Love life and relationships

Zeeko hasn’t been the subject of any rumors concerning his love life and his sexual orientation, however, it’s known that in 2020 he dated Sam Schneiter, but the two broke up in 2021.

Currently, Zeeko is in a relationship with Renée Monaco, a social media star, and although they haven’t confirmed it, many people believe that they’re engaged. The two are living together, and they often share their joint photos, featuring them hugging and smiling, seemingly enjoying their time together.

Renée Monaco presents herself as an artist and content creator, and is the Chief Executive Officer of the company Lucky Bean Coffee. According to her Linkedin profile, she’s currently studying for a Master of Business Administration at the Bowling Green State University, from which she initially graduated in 2016, so it is assumed that she was born in 1995, making her probably aged 27.

As of April 2022, Zeeko is in a relationship, he hasn’t been married, and doesn’t have children.

Hobbies and other interests

Zeeko is into sports, and to keep his body in shape, he works out at the gym three to four times per week, and he also plays basketball.

In his interview for CBS WATCH Magazine, he opened up about his 100lb (45kgs) loss weight, and shared some advice: ‘I got one tip, and it’s my favorite tip, it came from Tim Farris Four Hour Body – 30 grams of protein within thirty minutes of waking up. If you start your day perfect, you’re going to be more inclined to keep that going.’

He’s active on his Instagram account, which has been followed by over 185,000 people, and his fans can also keep track of his life and work through his Twitter account, established in December 2010, which is today followed by nearly 20,000 people.

Zeeko is 32 years old, and has black hair and dark brown eyes; he weighs around 225lbs (102kgs) and is 6ft 5ins (1.95m) tall.

As of April 2022, his net worth has been estimated at $2 million, and according to sources, his salary per episode of the series “FBI” is around $35,000.
