He has three siblings, two brothers named Kayden Gaulden and Kamiri Gaulden, and sister Kacey Alexander Gaulden, plus five more half-siblings, since his father has eight children with six different women. YoungBoy NBA is also known for having a number of issues with the law, and serving some time in prison. In November 2016, he was arrested for jumping out of a moving vehicle and shooting at a group of people on a street in South Baton Rouge, and served a sentence for attempted murder until August 2017, when he was released on a three-year active probation. In February of the following year, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, and was also accused of weapons violations and kidnapping. However, he was released from jail on $75,000 bail.

During his time on probation, he was involved in a street shooting in Miami in May 2019, after a shooter opened fire and injured his girlfriend, and killed a bystander – YoungBoy fired back. His charges for the shooting were dropped, but he had to spend 90 days imprisoned for his violation of a special condition of his probation. Furthermore, he was prohibited from performing for the next 14 months. Since then, he’s been arrested two more times. In September 2020, he was arrested on various charges, such as possession of stolen firearms and distribution of drugs. In March 2021, he was arrested on execution of a federal warrant.
