Who is Yasmin Monet Prince?
Yasmin was born in Jamaica in 2000 – she hasn’t shared her exact date of birth, but her zodiac sign is said to be Sagittarius, and she holds both Jamaican and British nationality. She’s an actress with more than 10 credits to her name, perhaps known best for her portrayal of Clara Mahan in the critically acclaimed action series “Hanna”. Created by David Farr, it starred Esme Creed-Miles, Mireille Enos and Aine Rose Daly, and follows a girl who’s been raised in a forest, and is now running away from a CIA agent, who’s pursuing her for unknown reasons; the series aired from 2019 to 2021, and was nominated for seven awards, including a Primetime Emmy.

Early life, parents and education
Yasmin was raised in England, as her family moved there when she was still a baby; she hasn’t shared any details concerning her parents, as she respects their privacy, but it’s believed that her father is a talent manager, and that her mother’s a professional dancer. Because Yasmin hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, most of her fans believe her to be an only child.
She became interested in acting when she was around eight years old, as she started watching movies and TV series with her parents nearly every day, while they also started taking her with them to the theatre.
She joined her high school’s drama club upon enrolling in 2014, and launched her acting career only two years later, with her portrayal of the lead character Kayla in the 2016 movie “Ellen”. It was directed by Mahalia Belo, also starred Jessica Barden and Joe Dempsie, and follows a sad girl who has found a new friend; the movie won seven awards, including a BAFTA Film Award for Breakthrough Talent (Mahalia Belo), while it was nominated for two other awards.
Yasmin matriculated in 2018, then didn’t enroll at college, but rather focused on her acting career.
Roles in TV series
In 2017, Yasmin played Emily Willis in the episode “Know Yourself, Know Your Enemy” of the drama “Holby City”, and in 2018, she portrayed Laura Murray in two episodes of the crime thriller drama “Dark Heart”.
It starred Tom Riley, Joseph Teague and Anjli Mohindra, and follows Will Wagstaffe and his team of detectives who are investigating violent attacks.
In 2020, Yasmin played Justina in the episode “Generational” of the drama “Unsaid Stories”; each episode is a short film inspired by the movement Black Lives Matter, and starred Amanda Abbington, Nicholas Pinnock and Adelayo Adedayo.
Her only other TV series role has been her portrayal of Ruth in eight episodes of the 2022 thriller “Then You Run”.
Roles in movies
Yasmin has so far appeared in three movies, including “Ellen”. In 2019, she portrayed Annie in the drama “Nocturnal”, written and directed by Nathalie Biancheri, and which starred Cosmo Jarvis, Lauren Coe and Sadie Frost.
It follows the cynical schoolgirl Laurie, who’s befriended the older man Pete, without knowing that he’s obsessed with her; the movie won three of the seven awards for which it was nominated.
Yasmin portrayed Alison in the 2021 romantic comedy “Boxing Day”, written and directed by Aml Ameen, who also starred in it alongside Aja Naomi King and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. The film follows the British author Melvin who’s living in the US, and has returned to London for Christmas with his fiancée Lisa.
Yasmin is currently shooting for two upcoming movies: the short drama “Colby”, and the comedy drama “Portraits of Dangerous Women”.

Yasmin is highly active on Instagram, and is today followed by close to 15,000 people, while she’s uploaded nearly 20 pictures onto the network, most taken during her everyday life.
She launched her Twitter account in March 2011, but it’s today followed by less than 100 people, as Yasmin’s most recent tweet was on 9 July 2016.

Some of Yasmin’s fans believe her to be a lesbian, and this to be the reason behind her not speaking of the boys whom she has dated. A fan has even claimed to have seen her kissing her girlfriend at a club in London, but no evidence has been provided to support this, nor has Yasmin commented on the matter.
There are also some who claim that she’s today in a relationship with a non-celebrity British boy, but prefers to keep him away from media because of how her newfound fame could affect their relationship, and vice-versa; this hasn’t been confirmed either.
