Who is Maralee Nichols?

Many people may not recognize the name Maralee Nichols, but this brunette with piercing blue eyes rose to prominence after it was revealed that she’s the girl with whom famous National Basketball Association (NBA) player Tristan Thompson, cheated on Khloe Kardashian, a popular reality star.

Maralee Nichols hasn’t shared her exact birthdate, however, it’s known that she was born in 1990, and that she’s a Houston, Texas USA native. She’s aged 32 or 33, holds American nationality, and although she hasn’t spoken about her family, many of her fans believe that she’s of mixed ethnicity, because of her skin color.

How did Maralee and Tristan meet? Relationship?

According to Maralee, the two met at a party at Tristan’s home in Encino, California; he told her that he was single but co-parenting. Maralee claims that she would never have become involved with him if she thought that he was in a relationship, however, Tristan and Khloe Kardashian were dating at that time, although Tristan told Maralee that he didn’t have a sexual relationship with anyone else, and that their relationship is much more than casual sex.


Maralee stated that she and Tristan communicated every day, talking on the phone, and that they would meet several times monthly. Their relationship continued, and Tristan invited her to visit him on Christmas, New Year’s, and his birthday in March. They meet at a party in Houston, and they spent a night together, which according to Maralee, was one of many nights. The next time they were together was when he invited her to visit him in Boston, Massachusetts, and a few weeks later, Maralee found out that she is pregnant.

They met in North Carolina at the end of April 2021, and Maralee told Tristan about her pregnancy, and seeing his reaction, she realized that she would raise the baby as a single mother.

Maralee claims that Tristan didn’t help her financially during her pregnancy, although as she said, he offered her the money, which she didn’t ask for and which she didn’t accept.

During her pregnancy, she took down her Instagram, as she wanted to keep her pregnancy as private as possible, not wanting to draw attention to her pregnancy and the issues with Tristan.


In June 2021, Maralee filed a paternity lawsuit against Tristan in Los Angeles, California court, while he filed a paternity action in Texas shortly after, which was dismissed in December 2021. Maralee claims that she didn’t file a request for child support before the baby was born.


The news about Maralee’s lawsuit was announced in December 2021, soon after she gave birth to her and Tristan’s child. Tristan shared via his Instagram that the paternity test proved that he’s the father of a baby boy and that he takes full responsibility for his actions.

Maralee’s next step in court was requesting monthly child support, filing the papers on 4 March 2022, and asking for over $45,000, using the information about Tristan’s income of over $9.5 million, and claiming that she has no income. Maralee also asked that Tristan be ordered to pay her attorney fees, around $1 million.

In January 2023, Tristan and Maralee settled an agreement that he will pay her nearly $10,000 per month in child support.

As mentioned, their son was born on 1 December 2021, and Maralee named him Theo. She often posts photos on her Instagram featuring herself and her son, although she’s never shown his face. The photo captions are full of love, and Maralee seems to be happy with her role as a mother.

Theo recently celebrated his first birthday, and Maralee posted a heartwarming photo of the two of them, with the caption saying that Theo is the sweetest little boy, among other things.

In November 2020, he signed a two-year, $19 million contract with the Boston Celtics, but was traded to the Sacramento Kings in August 2021, while on 8 February 2022, Tristan was traded to the Indiana Pacers, but signed with the Chicago Bulls on 19 February 2022.
