Italian actress Michela De Rossi was born in Rome, Italy, on 25 January 1993, meaning that Aquarius is her zodiac sign. She’s appeared in 13 movies and TV series, and is perhaps known best for portraying Giuseppina Moltisanti in the critically acclaimed 2021 crime movie “The Many Saints of Newark”, directed by Alan Taylor, and which starred Alessandro Nivola, Leslie Odom Jr. and Jon Bernthal. It follows the life of mob boss Tony Soprano, and the movie was nominated for four awards.
Education and early life
Michela and her brother Stefano were raised in Rome by their father Alessandro De Rossi, while their mother’s name hasn’t been disclosed; Michela rarely speaks about her family, because she respects their privacy, but it’s believed that her father’s a barber.
She grew up being interested in both acting and dancing ballet, and began taking lessons in both after turning eight. Michela appeared in a number of plays performed at her high school, and was also into sports during those years, as she played soccer for the school’s team.

Michela’s debut film role was playing one of the main characters Marina in the 2017 short drama “Primo”, written and directed by Federica Gianni, and which also starred Pietro Angelini and Lorenzo Frediani; it follows a boy as he’s meeting his girlfriend’s parents in Tuscany, and now has to prove his masculinity by going on a wild boar hunt.
In 2018, Michela appeared in the drama “Libero Grassi”, and the same year also saw her play Ambra in the popular crime drama “Boys Cry”, written and directed by Damiano and Fabio D’Innocenzo, and which starred Andrea Carpenzano, Matteo Olivetti and Milena Mancini. It follows best friends Manolo and Mirko who are living in a poor neighborhood of Rome, and the movie won five of its 17 award nominations. Also in 2018, Michela played Pischella Centro in the comedy “The Prophecy of the Armadillo”.
The year 2019 saw her star in the short fantasy comedy “Inglorious League”, while she was then cast to play the lead character Elisa in the 2022 comedy “Con chi Viaggi”, directed by Younuts, and which also starred Alessandra Mastronardi and Pasquale Petrolo. It follows four strangers who’ve met through a ride-sharing app, and have now embarked on an adventure together.
Michela’s appeared in only one other movie: the 2022 comedy “Io e Spotty”.
Roles in TV series
Michela has had roles in only three TV series. She played Ylenia in a 2017 episode of the crime drama “Squadra Mobile”, created by Pietro Valsecchi, and which starred Giorgio Tirabassi, Daniele Liotti and Antonio Catania; it follows the people working for Rome’s inter-district police department.
From 2018 through 2020, Michela starred as Carmen in the comedy “The Rats”, which also starred Antonio Albanese and Nicola Rignanese, and follows Sebastiano and his wife who believe that their house is full of spy bugs, and have thus hidden in their uncle’s bunker.
Most recently, in 2023, Michela played Fanny in the western “Django”, created by Leonardo Fasoli and Maddalena Ravagli, and which stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Nicholas Pinnock and Lisa Vicari. It follows gunslinger Django who’s trying to find his daughter in the Wild West.
Michela’s currently shooting for two upcoming series: “Briganti” and “While the Men are Away”.

She was featured in an episode of the talk-show “IMDb on the Scene – Interviews” in 2017, while the year 2019 saw her appear in the documentary movie “The Disappearance of My Mother”, which follows the life of a famous model who’s trying to escape the entertainment industry.
