After graduating from the AFI, Malcolm worked as a second assistant director on “Trouble Man”. 2017 was a more lucrative year for Denzel’s son, as he wrote and directed THE short “Benny Got Shot”, worked as assistant director on “The Last Bookstore”, produced “Summer of 17”, and snagged a role as Spike Lee’s assistant In eight episodes of “She’s Gotta Have It”, a Netflix series following the life of a young woman and her three love interests. Despite showing promise, the series was cancelled after two seasons, with Malcolm yet to embark on a new project since then.

She taught them their prayers”, adding that when Malcolm and Olivia turned 16, he bought them second-hand vehicles so as not to spoil them.
