Rick Yune spent his early years in his hometown of Washington DC, where he was raised by his father, Yun Taeho, and his mother, Park Wonhui; however, their professions are unknown. He has a younger brother, named Karl Yune, who is also an actor known for his work on “Anacondas: The Hunt For The Blood Orchid” (2004), and “Arrow” (2014-2015).Rick holds American nationality, and belongs to an Asian ethnic group being of Korean descent.

He booked his first significant TV role in the Netflix historical drama series “Marco Polo”, featuring as Kaidu, a Mongol Khan, from 2014 until it was canceled after two seasons in 2016.
