Who is Kay Flock?
American rapper Kevin Perez – aka Kay Flock – was born in The Bronx, New York City USA, on 20 April 2003, so Taurus is his zodiac sign. He’s been active in the music industry since 2020, and is probably known best for his single “Is Ya Ready”, which reached #61 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart; Kay’s also interested in acting, and has already starred in a number of music videos, such as the 2021 “Not in the Mood”, which featured Fivio Foreign and Lil Tjay, and the 2022 “Shake It”, which featured Bory300, Dougie B and Cardi B.
Education and early life
Kay was raised alongside his brother and sister in The Bronx, by their father who’s a factory worker, and mother who’s a registered nurse; not a lot else has been shared about Kay’s family, because he respects their privacy.
Kay wrote his first songs while attending a local high school, and often performed for his peers who encouraged him to pursue a career as a rapper; he’s revealed that he was raised in a ‘dangerous area’, and that music helped keep him away from crime.
Kay matriculated in 2021, and then chose to focus on music rather than to pursue a college degree.
Career as a rapper
Kay released his first single “FTO” in May 2020, while still attending a local high school, and he then released “Brotherly Love” in collaboration with B-Lovee and Dougie B, and “Opp Spotter” with B-Lovee and “PSA”.
His first mixtape “The D. O. A. Tape” came out on 5 November 2021 and topped the Heatseekers Albums chart; some of the most popular songs which Kay released in 2021 were “Being Honest”, “Is Ya Ready” and “Not in the Mood”, with the third reaching #61 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Billboard named him Rookie of the Month in November 2021, and he then revealed in an interview that he found inspiration in American rappers Pop Smoke and King Von.
In April 2022, Kay collaborated with Bory300, Cardi B and Douie B on the song “Shake It”, which reached #51 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
YouTube channel
Kay’s self-titled YouTube channel was launched on 26 May 2020, and is today subscribed to by more than 720,000 people, and all his videos combined have been watched over 300 million times. Kay uploads only music videos, and we’re going to mention three of the most popular amongst these.
His #1 video “Kay Flock – Shake It feat. Cardi B, Dougie B & Bory300 (Official Video)” has been watched close to 60 million times since 15 April 2022, and is a song about Kay and his friends roaming the city.
Kay’s second most popular video “Kay Flock – Is Ya Ready (shot by KLO Vizionz)” has been watched close to 50 million times since 17 August 2021, about life in the streets.
His #3 video “Kay Flock – PSA (Official Video)” has been watched more than 30 million times since 12 September 2021, and is another song about life in the streets.

Kay’s followed by more than 660,000 people on his Instagram account ‘GrandChild’, and he’s posted 30 pictures and videos onto the social media network, most of which serve to promote his music and announce his upcoming tours.
He’s been active on Twitter since February 2013, but has tweeted only seven times; Kay’s nevertheless followed by over 5,000 people on the network.

Kay’s also active on TikTok, and his account numbers close to 600,000 followers, while all his videos combined have amassed over 2.5 million likes.
Arrest
On 16 December 2021, Kay shot American non-celebrity Oscar Hernandez twice, in the neck and back, and he died from his injuries at Mount Sinai Hospital. Kay turned himself in on 23 December, and has since been held on Rikers Island; he’s represented by American criminal defense attorney Jeffrey Harris Lichtman, and his most recent court appearance was on 23 January 2023.
Love life and wife
Kay prefers not to speak about his love life in public, but has still uploaded a picture onto his Instagram account, which features him with his girlfriend. The name or profession of the girl haven’t been disclosed, and some of Kay’s fans have pointed out the possibility that Kay’s gay, and is simply using the picture to stop these rumors from spreading even more; a fan has claimed to have seen Kay kissing his boyfriend, but none of this has been addressed by him.
There are also those who claim that he’s trying to keep his girlfriend away from the media’s attention, and perhaps from jealous female fans, but this hasn’t been confirmed either.
Kay seems to be in a relationship with a mysterious girl as of February 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
