Who is Julian Cullen?
Australian actor and social media personality Julian Cullen, was born under the zodiac sign Gemini on 14 June 1996 in Cairns, Queensland. He has only four acting credits, and is perhaps known best for playing Private Frank Topp in the critically acclaimed 2019 war action movie “Danger Close”, which Kriv Stenders directed, and which starred Travis Fimmel, Toby Blome and Alexander England. Set in 1966, the film follows over 2,500 Viet Cong and North Vietnamese soldiers as they’re fighting against 108 inexperienced New Zealand and Australian soldiers in a Vietnamese rubber plantation; the movie won eight of its 14 award nominations.

Julian was raised alongside his sister Elizabeth Clare Cullen and brother Tom in Cairns, by their mother Virginia Birt and father whose name and profession remain undisclosed; Virginia’s today a freelance writer and editor, and holds a Master’s degree in literature from Deakin University. Julian’s sister Elizabeth’s also an actress, with nine credits to her name, probably known best for portraying Natalie – Motel Girl in the hit 2022 biographical musical movie “Elvis”.
Julian became interested in acting while attending Cairns State High School, appearing in most of the school’s plays as a member of its drama club, while he was also into dancing, singing and playing various sports. Julian matriculated in 2014, and continued his education at Bond University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2018; he then spent a year honing his acting skills at a local drama school.

Julian’s debut TV series role was playing Michael in the 2019 episode “Ready For This” of the comedy “The Family Law”, which Benjamin Law created, and which starred Anthony Brandon Wong, Fiona Choi and Trystan Go. It follows the lives of members of a Chinese-Australian family; the series was based on the best-selling book by Benjamin Law, it aired from 2016 through 2019 and won seven of its 13 award nominations.
In 2020, Julian played Gibsy in three episodes of the drama series “The Heights”, created by Que Minh Luu and Warren Clarke, and which starred Roz Hammond, Calen Tassone and Shari Sebbens. It follows the lives of people from the inner-city neighborhood of Arcadia Heights, and the series won three of its 14 award nominations.
Julian’s only other acting credit has been playing Darra in all 40 episodes of the family fantasy series “The Bureau of Magical Things”, created by Mark Shirrefs and Jonathan M. Shiff, and which starred his sister Elizabeth, Mia Milnes and Kimie Tsukakoshi. It follows Kyra who’s discovered a hidden world and has developed magical powers; the series won four of its 12 award nominations.

Other credits
Julian worked as a cinematographer on the 2019 short movie “Strays”, written and directed by Nicholas Muecke, and which starred Matt Little, Daniel Hutton and Ryder Calbert; it follows two homeless boys seeking shelter in a stranger’s home.
Julian worked as a cinematographer and editor on the 2020 short fantasy movie “Eye for an Eye”, written and directed by his sister Elizabeth, who also starred in it alongside Rachael Gibson and Mauricio Bemudez; it follows a young woman on her solo trip into a mysterious and secluded forest.
Julian performed the songs “Amazing As Benjamin” and “Can’t Get Ben Off My Head” in the 2021 episode “Almost Famous” of the series “The Bureau of Magical Things”.

Julian avoids talking about his love life in public, which is why his fans have started various rumors about him, most of which concern his sexual orientation and past and present relationships.
It’s widely believed that he was once romantically linked to Australian actress Kimie Tsukakoshi, who appeared alongside him in the series “The Bureau of Magical Things”, and in the series “The Family Law”. Kimie’s had roles in 15 TV series and movies. Neither’s confirmed the rumors about them dating, despite them having been seen spending time together in public on multiple occasions.
We don’t know about other girls, or perhaps boys whom Julian’s maybe dated; he seems to be unattached as of January 2024, doesn’t have children and hasn’t married.
