“Surviving Summer”
Bowrey’s life revolves around surfing and as a result, her mother encouraged her to audition for the role of a professional surfer in the TV series “Surviving Summer.” The Queensland native didn’t expect to win any role, but much to her surprise, she was selected to portray Poppy Tetanui, an ambitious teenage surfer, working towards winning the world championship in the show. In an interview, Lilliana stated, ‘Never in my life did I think that I’d become an actress and be on a Netflix series…(portraying Poppy) has been such a rapid change in my life but, you know, the opportunities and meeting new people have been huge.’ The series revolves around a rebellious teenager named Summer Torres – portrayed by Sky Katz – who’s expelled from a Brooklyn High
