Philippa Scott was born on 10 November 1935 in New York City, USA, the daughter of the famous stage actress Laura Straub and playwright/screenwriter Allan Scott. Her uncle was the legendary Adrian Scott, one of the Hollywood Ten of the Hollywood Blacklist.


After high school, Pippa enrolled at Radcliffe College, a women’s liberal arts college in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She then transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles, before she moved to England, where she studied acting at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

The same year, she was Pegeen Ryan in the Academy Award-nominated romantic comedy-drama film “Auntie Mame”, about an orphan boy who is sent to live with his flamboyant and eccentric aunt until the execution of his father’s will, but there is a catch. Based on the novel by Patrick Dennis, the film starred Rosalind Russell, Forrest Tucker, and Coral Browne.


Next, from 1959 through 1960, she was Maggie in the TV thriller-comedy series “Mr. Lucky” and continued into the ’60 with a string of guest-starring roles in a number of television projects.

She was Laura Templeton in the critically acclaimed TV fantasy horror-drama series “The Twilight Zone”, created and starring Rod Serling alongside Robert McCord and Jay Overholts.

Next, she appeared in the Primetime Emmy-nominated TV western series “Have Gun – Will Travel”, while in 1962, she appeared in six episodes of the award-winning TV series “The Virginian” as Molly Wood, publisher, editor, and reporter of The Medicine Bow Banner.

Then in 1966, she was Dorothy in the TV series “The Dick Van Dyke Show”, and Diana Grayson in the TV series “Tarzan”, starring Ron Ely, Manuel Padilla Jr., and Virgil Richardson.


In 1967, she was Bobbie in an episode of the Primetime Emmy Award-winning TV action adventure comedy series “I Spy”, with Robert Culp, Bill Cosby and Kenneth Tobey in the lead roles.

Pippa next featured in a 1968 episode of the TV series “Family Affair”, about Bill who becomes the host of a group of unexpected long-term guests. Furthermore, Pippa starred in the TV series “Jigsaw John” in 1976, and the following year was Janet Musante in the TV series “The Hardy Boys/ Nancy Drew Mysteries”.

After some years away from the screen, Pippa returned in mid- ‘80s with a one-time appearance in the TV series “Remington Steele”, and as Ilene Forbes in the thriller-drama film “The Sound of Murder”, co-starring Michael Moriarty.
