Who is Clare Carey?

Clare Carey was born in Rhodesia on 11 June 1967 – her zodiac sign is Gemini, and she holds American nationality, as both her parents are American. She’s an actress with more than 80 credits to her name, while she’s perhaps known best for her portrayal of Lucille Gladner, in the biographical crime series “Aquarius”, created by John McNamara, and which starred David Duchovny, Grey Damon and Gethin Anthony. The series follows the detective Sam Hodiak and his trainee, as they’re solving crimes in Los Angeles, California; it aired in 2015 and 2016, and won one of the two awards for which it was nominated.

Early life and education

Clare was raised in Los Angeles by her father who was a doctor, and her mother who was a teacher; they were both on a Catholic mission in Rhodesia when Clare’s mother gave birth to her.

She became interested in acting while attending a local high school, and was encouraged by her drama teacher, who cast her to play the lead character in a school play. It didn’t take long for Clare to fall in love with acting, and she then practiced her skills at a local theatre. She was also interested in various other activities during her four years of high school, as she practiced singing, did gymnastics, and played volleyball.

Upon matriculating in 1985, Clare enrolled at New York University’s Film School, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989; she also studied Shakespeare at the Royal Academy in London, England.

Clare made her debut film appearance in 1987, with her portrayal of Mary Beth in the horror comedy “Zombie High”, and by the end of the ‘80s, she’d appeared in a couple of other movies, such as the 1987 science fiction horror “Uninvited”, the romantic action comedy “Once Upon a Texas Train”, and the  horror comedy “Waxwork” both in 1988.

She gained recognition in 1995, when she starred as Dana Bixler in the drama “Betrayed: A Story of Three Women”, directed by William A. Graham, and which also starred Meredith Baxter and Swoosie Kurtz. It follows two women who have been friends for years, while one’s husband has now begun cheating her with her friend’s daughter. The remainder of the ‘90s saw Clare appear in several other popular films, including the 1996 science fiction “Them”, and the 1997 thriller drama “Echo”.

Her following notable performance was her portrayal of Skater, in the 2001 critically acclaimed action adventure comedy “Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles”, directed by Simon Wincer, and which starred Paul Hogan, Linda Kozlowski and Jere Burns.

It follows an Australian man and his son, who have travelled to Los Angeles to shoot a movie; the film won one of the three awards for which it was nominated. The following year saw Clare play Kate McAllister, in the family crime comedy “Home Alone 4”, and in 2006 she appeared in the action crime comedy “Smokin’ Aces”, which won four awards. Between 1989 and 1995, Clare starred as Kelly Fox in the sports comedy “Coach”, which also starred Craig T.
