Who is Julia Ormond?

The audience remembers her portrayal of Sabrina in the 1995 eponymous romantic drama, and to the younger viewers, she’s known as Elizabeth Kublek on “The Walking Dead: World Beyond”.

Julia Ormond is an actress with over 50 credits to her name, and besides the mentioned roles, perhaps known best for her role as Eustacia Grandin in the biographical drama “Temple Grandin”, which in 2010 brought her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie.

Early life, family, and education

Julia Karin Ormond is aged 57, born on 4 January 1965, in Epsom, Surrey, England, thus she holds British nationality. Julia was raised alongside her four siblings by their parents, John, who was a stockbroker, and Josephine, who worked as a laboratory technician.

Julia had an interest in acting from an early age, and dreamed of becoming a famous Hollywood actress – her role model was Vivian Leigh. She couldn’t even imagine that she would one day play the film role based on her idol.

Speaking of Julia’s educational background, she attended Guildford High School, and Cranleigh School, where she began performing leading roles in school plays. In 1983, upon matriculating from high school, Julia enrolled at art school, but after a year, transferred to the Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, from which she graduated in 1988.

Julia made her professional acting debut portraying Caroline Lithgow in the 1989 TV mini-series “Traffik”, followed by her role as Nora Fanshawe in “Ruth Rendell Mysteries” in 1990.

Julia’s next television series role didn’t come until 2005, when she was cast to play Stevie Moore in the TV mini-series “Beach Girls”, also starring Rob Lowe and Chelsea Hobbs. Next, Julia was cast to play Marie in the 1994 biographic drama “Nostradamus”, followed in the same year by her roles in “Captives” and “Legends of the Fall”.

In the 1995 action adventure “First Knight”, Julia was seen as Guinevere, starring opposite Sean Connery and Richard Gere, and although the movie had no nominations, it was well accepted by the audience. Love life and spouse

Julia met her future husband Rory Edwards while they were performing together in the play “Wuthering Heights”, and the two married in 1988. They didn’t have children together, and although they seemed like a happy couple, they divorced in 1994.

Two years later, Julia began dating Gabriel Byrne, an Irish actor, who was her co-star in “Smilia’s Sense of Snow”. The two broke up in 1997.

In 1999, Julia married her second husband, Jon Rubin, a political activist, and the two became parents in 2004, when Julia gave birth to their daughter, Sophia. Julia and Jon divorced in 2008.

There’s been no public view of any relationships since then, so as of September 2022, it seems that Julia is single.
