Emma’s life took a drastic turn in 2013, when she was diagnosed with Stage IV Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare muscle cancer; at the time, she was only 14 years old. She then underwent numerous chemo treatments to try to cure it. Even though she faced this alarming challenge, Emma showed remarkable courage to use her online platforms to share her positivity, for which she became widely recognized. Despite successfully beating Rhabdomyosarcoma once, the disease returned in October 2015. In one of her Twitter posts, she disclosed that the cancer spread to her abdomen, spine and heart, and she was left only three weeks to three months to live. This marked a huge setback in her recovery journey, leading her to explore alternative treatment options. Despite her efforts, Emma tragically lost her battle with cancer in 2016. As a prominent figure in the Vine community, she touched the lives of many, and her death was mourned by fellow social media stars such as Andrea Russett, Trevi Moran, Madison Beer and many others.
