Who is Clifton Powell Jr?
American former basketball player, author, commercial director, model and social media star Clifton Powell Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 5 May 1997, making Taurus his zodiac sign. He’s perhaps known best for two things: for being the son of famous American actor Clifton Powell, who appeared in the critically acclaimed 2004 biographical musical movie “Ray” and was nominated for an Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture, and for being the boyfriend of Sasha Obama, who’s the daughter of former US President Barack Obama.
Education and early life
Clifton and his sister May were raised in Ladera Heights, California by their father and their mother Kimberly Powell, who’s a housewife; his father’s appeared in close to 300 movies and TV series, and has won two of his six award nominations.
Clifton became interested in playing sports at a quite an early age, and it was only after he began growing fast while attending San Fernando Valley High School that he started playing basketball and joined the school’s team; Clifton was also into acting during his teenage years, appearing in a number of school plays, but eventually chose basketball over acting.

Clifton’s physically highly active and although he hasn’t become a professional basketball player, he still occasionally plays the sport with his friends; he’s also an avid tennis player, and enjoys playing soccer and table tennis.
Clifton’s a huge lover of animals, and had two pet dogs while he was growing up; some of his favorite animals are horses, elephants and koalas.
He’s been to many US states and a couple of European countries, mostly thanks to his father’s career.
Clifton’s planning to become a philanthropist just as his parents, and has already donated money to several charities which aim to improve the quality of life for underprivileged African children.
