Steven Yeun was born Yeun Sang-yeop on 21 December 1983 under the zodiac sign of Sagittarius, in Seoul, South Korea, the son of Je and Jun Yeun. His father worked as an architect before they moved to Canada, where they lived for some time in Regina, Saskatchewan, and where his younger brother Brian Yeun was born. They later moved to the US, and settled in Taylor, Michigan, and later nearby Troy. Speaking about his education, he attended Ruth M. Buck Elementary School in Regina, and later Troy High School, from which he matriculated in 2001. Steven Yeun became interested in acting while at college, and started his career after graduation by joining the Chicago-based sketch comedy troupe Stir Friday Night!, and then another called The Second City. His debut feature film appearance came in 2009, when he took the role of Chaz in the independent drama “My Name Is Jerry”. He gained worldwide recognition when he joined the main cast of the highly popular AMC post-apocalyptic horror series “The Walking Dead”, in which he starred as Glenn Rhee in more than 80 episodes aired from 2010 until 2016.
