He returned to work for the cinema in 1981 when he composed the music for the film “Ragtime”, for which he was nominated for two Academy Awards. Then, he was again nominated by the Academy for his song “There Is A Friend In Me” for the film “Toy Story” (1995). After 15 nominations for Academy Awards he won the award for the Best Song “If I Did Not Have You” piece for the film “Monsters, Inc.” (2001). In 2011, he won his second Oscar for “We Belong Together” theme composed for “Toy Story 3”.
