Armando Christian Perez was born on 15 January 1981, in Miami, Florida USA,  into a family of Latin American descent – his parents were immigrants from Cuba. He is far better known to music enthusiasts by his stage name – Pitbull, a rapper whose career includes highlights like a Latin Grammy Award for the best urban performance.

So just how rich is Pitbull? Authoritative sources estimate that his net worth is over $50 million as of mid-2016, accumulated during his career in the music industry stretching  over just 15 years.

Pitbull Net Worth $50 Million

Pitbull had a knack for performance from a very young age, learning to recite poetry when he was three years old, and the talent would never leave him – indeed, it has seen him through to a world-famous career as one of the planet’s most prospective current hip hop and pop performers, certainly a big step up from his youth. He was educated at South Miami Senior High School before matriculating from Miami Coral Park High School, where he began rapping. However, Pitbull was thrown out of his mother’s house for following in his father’s footsteps and sidelining as a drug dealer. Nothing came easy to the future music star, and even his physical features – not the most traditional for a rapper – drew criticism.

Much like the dog after which he’s since named himself, however, Pitbull was not about to give up and quit fighting. By 2002, Pitbull had come to the attention of the rapper and record producer Lil Jon, and many regard Pitbull’s appearance in Jon’s next album with the group “East Side Boyz” as his first real breakout performance. Pitbull and Lil Jon hit it off afterwards, and the two collaborated heavily on Pitbull’s 2004 debut studio album, “M.I.A.M.I.” (otherwise known as “Money Is a Major Issue”). Afterwards, several collaborations with other high-profile rappers followed, including Sean Combs (known also by his stage names of Puff Daddy or P. Diddy), Trina and T-Pain. In 2011, Pitbull found his greatest success to date with the release of his single “Give Me Everything”, which went on to top charts worldwide – including the Billboard Hot 100. This burst of popularity has certainly contributed greatly to Pitbull’s net worth, and shows that he is still very much a star on the rise – and that his net worth is more than likely to keep on growing over the next couple of years.

Most famous for some of his more recent work, Pitbull has become a prominent figure in the hip hop scene, having released a number of chart-topping hits, including two world-famous singles that reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Well-known for his proficiency with creating truly memorable singles, Pitbull has collaborated with a number of famous performers throughout his career, most recently including Jennifer Lopez and the Brazilian recording artist and vocalist Claudia Leitte in recording the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, entitled “We Are One (Ole Ola)”. This relatively recent burst of success is why it is difficult to pin an exact value on Pitbull’s net worth, but his continued popularity means that the rapper looks set to achieve even more in the years to follow.

In his personal life, there is no public information on Pitbull’s  current family life. However, he is a noted philanthropist, and was the speaker in 2013 at the opening of the  Sports Leadership and Management (SLAM) school, which he helped build in  Little Havana, the Miami neighborhood where he grew up, to be operated by the non-profit Mater Academy.
