Phillip Darren Buchanon was born on the 19th September 1980, in Streator, Illinois, USA. He is a retired professional American Football player, who played in the position of cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for several teams, including the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, Detroit Lions, among others. He is also recognized for playing college football at the University of Miami. His professional career was active from 2002 to 2011.

Besides football, he was also a member of the track and field team for three seasons, an set personal records of 10.5 seconds in the 100m, and 21.8 seconds in the 200m sprints. Phillip recorded 6.79 seconds for the 60m at the Meyo Invitational, in which he participated, after joining the Hurricanes track team in 2001. After matriculation, he became a student at the University of Miami, where he continued to play football for the college team in the position of a returner, and he earned All-American honors, finishing his college career with two touchdowns, and 32 returns for 477 yards.

Phillip’s professional career began in 2002, when he participated in the NFL 2002 Draft, and was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the first round, as the 17th overall pick, however, he never lived up to the expectations of the league.
