Peck started his career of drawing tattoos at the age of 19 and eventually established himself as one of the world’s best ‘old school’ American style tattoo artists. His profession has enabled him to earn good money and travel all over the globe to meet his clients. In 2008 Peck did 415 tattoos of the number 13 in a consecutive 24-hour time period, which led him to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.
In 2012 Peck became a part of the popular Spike reality competition television series “Ink Master”, in which he serves as one of the three main judges. The series involves tattoo artists who compete against each other going through various tattoo-related challenges, such as the Flash Challenge, where contestants compete by showing various artistic skills which usually don’t include tattooing. The one who wins the challenge gets the right to choose their and their fellow competitors’ human canvases in the next challenge which is called the Elimination Challenge. Here, the competitors are tattooing their human canvases and their designs are being criticized and evaluated by judges who select two best and two worst designs. One, or sometimes more, of the two worst competitors is eliminated at the end of the episode. The final challenge may include different formats, for example a marathon tattooing of up to 18 hours from the first season, or creating a free-chosen design on a human canvas being limited by time from the following seasons. The series goes on in this manner and the competitor who remains until the last episode wins the show and gets a $100, 000 prize as well as the feature in Inked Magazine and the title Ink Master.
Peck serves as one of the judges who decide the competitors’ success within the show. The other judges are musician Dave Navarro and tattoo artist Chris Nunez. These are the three primary judges appearing throughout the entire show. Sometimes they are accompanied by a fourth judge, usually another famous tattoo artist. “Ink Master” has been running since 2012 and involves seven seasons, the last one being premiered in early 2016. The show has brought Peck to the center of attention and has significantly contributed to his net worth.
In 2013 Peck was a special guest at the ninth stop of the Rockstar Inked Up World Tour in El Paso. He has been the co-owner of a tattoo shop called “Elm Street Tattoo” in Dallas, TX for around 20 years. He later opened another shop in Hollywood, CA, which is called “True Tattoo”.
Speaking of his personal life, Peck has been involved in a controversy during his time on “Ink Master”. A former show’s production assistant Nicoletta Robinson has filed a lawsuit against Peck and Nunez accusing them of sexual harassment. She has claimed that the two artists have been peppering her with highly inappropriate jokes and comments, and that Peck has often been touching her in an inappropriate manner. When Robinson complained to the show’s management, she lost her job. Thus, her lawsuit has requested lost wages and undefined monetary damage. This resulted in the whole show coming under fire.
When it comes to Peck’s love life, he married fellow tattoo artist Kat Von D in 2003. The couple had separated in 2007 and their divorce was finalized in 2008. There is no information known about his current relationship status.
