In April 2019, Saravia narrowly escaped death when she was shot at Lake Worth’s Howard Park. The bullet went through her arm, broke one of her shoulder blades and rib, and bruised her left lung, but stopped in her right shoulder blade. There was a possibility that she would have been killed or permanently paralyzed, and was lucky to have survived.
