In 2009 he expanded his industrial kingdom to sports, increasing his net worth as well with the future investments, as he made an offer to buy the NBA team New Jersey Nets and in 2010 he became a majority owner of the team with a 80% of the stake, sharing the rest with the real estate developer Bruce Ratner.
