Mike Comrie Net Worth $5 Million

Michael William Comrie began his career when 15 years old in the AMBHL league where he played in his hometown team. After one season there, he moved into a higher league where he spent two seasons. From 1998 until 2000 Mike attended the University of Michigan and played for the university team, and during this two year period he scored 82 goals. Afterwards, he moved to the WHL league in which he played 37 matches and managed to score 39 goals and make 40 assists.

In the 1999 NHL Draft, Mike was picked 91st overall by the Edmonton Oilers team, where he spent three seasons. This was the best contract during his entire career, as he signed a $10 million deal for three years: needless to mention that this made his net worth jump considerably. In 2001 he was invited to join the Canadian men’s hockey team, in which he played seven matches and scored one goal. In 2002 Michael again joined the national ice hockey team and in nine matches he managed to score three goals.

In 2003 Mike was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers team and signed a one-year contract, after which he was traded again, to the Phoenix Coyotes team. During the 2004-2005 season, Mike joined the Färjestad BK team in Sweden where played 10 matches and scored one goal. Afterwards, in 2007 he signed for the Ottawa Senators team where he successfully played 41 matches and scored 13 goals. At the end of his contract with the Ottawa team, he moved to New York hockey team New York Islanders and signed a one-year contract in 2008. In 2009 Mike returned to his home-town team, signing a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers. The centre position player ended his career playing in the team of the Pittsburgh Penguins, as he had long experienced repetitive hip trauma, and the Pittsburgh Penguins offered him only $500,000 per year. Comparing this with his first contract, a huge decline is easily noticed.

Having a look at his awards and achievements these two medals – a Gold Medal IIHF World Championship (2003) and Silver medal Elitserien (2005) – are the most important in the career of the ice hockey player.

In Mike Comrie ’s personal life, married the actress and singer Hilary Duff in 2010. The family has a son who was born in 2012. Unfortunately, in 2015 Hilary filed for divorce and for custody of their son.
