Then Michael graduated with an MA degree in Economics from the London School Of Economics in 1985, and was hired as a bond salesman by the Solomon Brothers. In order to become a full time employee, he moved to New York, and attended the training program by the investment bank. This was the basis of his net worth.

However, after a few years he quit his job as his ambitions were higher, and he focused on writing. His first book, and also his first bestseller, came out in 1989, entitled “Liar’s Poker”. The book’s sales increased Michael’s net worth, and certainly encouraged him to continue with his writing career. He has now released 15 more books, all of which have increased his net worth by a large margin. His second book came out in 1991, entitled “Pacific Rift”, and by the end of the 1990s, he had also released “The Money Culture” (1991), and “Trail Fever” (1997).

In 2003 he published the book “Moneyball: The Art Of Winning An Unfair Game”, which was later made into the film “Moneyball”, released in 2011, starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill, adding a lot to the overall size of his net worth. During the 2000s, Michael’s books became even more popular, and books such as “The Big Short: Inside The Doomsday Machine” (2010), was also made into the film “The Big Short” (2015), starring Christian Bale, Brad Pitt and Ryan Gossling, “Boomerang” (2011), and “Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt”, contributed to his net worth.

Most recently,Michael released his 16th book, entitled “The Undoing Project: A Friendship That Changed Our Minds”, which has also added a lot to his net worth.
