Who was Michael Galeotti?

Michael ‘Mike’ Galeotti was born on Long Island, New York State USA, on 28 August 1984 – his zodiac sign was Virgo, and he held American nationality. He was a musician, and is still remembered for having been the husband of Bethany Joy Lenz, a famous American actress, moviemaker and singer-songwriter.

Michael passed away on 11 January 2016, aged 31, from atherosclerotic heart disease; he was found at his apartment by a friend, after Michael had failed to answer his calls.

Early life and education

Michael was raised on Long Island by his parents about whom nothing’s known, as he respected their privacy; it’s said that his father was the owner of his own small company, and that his mother was a high school teacher. Because he didn’t speak of having any siblings, most people believe that Michael was an only child.

He became interested in acting and music while attending a local high school, and was a member of a couple of bands during his four years there. Michael learned to play a couple of instruments, including the keyboards and guitar, so upon matriculating in 2002 he didn’t enroll at college, but chose to pursue his career as a musician.

Michael’s career

Not a lot is known about Michael’s career, except that he was once the keyboardist of the indie rock band Enation from Battle Ground, Washington State. The band was founded in 2003 by the brothers Richard Lee and Jonathan Jackson, who are today also popular actors, and Michael became their keyboardist in the following year, while Daniel Sweatt became their bassist. Richard Lee is Enation’s frontman, singing and playing various instruments, including the guitar and piano, while he has also written most of their songs, and his brother Jonathan plays the bass guitar and bass synth.

Between 2004 and 2011, the boys were signed to Hilasterion Records; they released their debut album “Identity Theft” in 2004, followed by another two albums in 2007, entitled “Where the Fire Starts” and “Soul & Story: Volume One”, then five other albums, including the 2008 “World in Flight”, the 2009 “The Future is a Memory: Live” and the 2011 “My Ancient Rebellion”.

Michael quit the band in 2012, and there were rumors circulating the internet claiming that he was fired because of his alcoholism, coming to the rehearsals drunk, and occasionally not showing up at all.

Enation has since released three albums: “Radio Cinematic” in 2014, “Live from Nashville” in 2016, and “Anthems For The Apocalypse” in 2017.

Love life and marriage with Bethany Joy Lenz

Michael and Bethany apparently met at a bar at which he was performing with one of his former bands, in the first half of the 2000s.

They married on 31 December 2005, in a private ceremony attended by only their best man and maid of honor; in 2011, Bethany gave birth to their daughter.

In March 2012, Bethany revealed that she was divorcing Michael, claiming that they were to remain friends, and would be raising their daughter together. Bethany started dating the American actor Wes Ramsey in the same year, and they were in a relationship for the following five years.

After the divorce, Michael apparently turned more and more to alcohol, and was arrested for driving under the influence on multiple occasions. He developed several health problems, including hypertension, diverticulitis and a high cholesterol level, and was advised by his doctor to stop drinking, and take better care of his health.

Michael failed to take his advice, and found himself in hospital in January 2016, but insisted no being discharged, although doctors once again suggested otherwise; Michael was found dead only a couple of days later.

Hobbies and other interests

Michael was physically quite active prior to his divorce, and had multiple training sessions at the gym every week, while he had also followed a strict diet, avoiding fast food and sweets.

He liked to travel, and had been all around the US with his band, while he had also vacationed with Bethany in a couple of European countries; his dream travel destination was London, England.

Michael was a lover of animals, and had a pet dog.

He enjoyed spending his spare time in nature and visiting national parks.

Michael was a fan of the film industry, and his favorite actor and actress were Leonardo DiCaprio and Sandra Bullock, while a couple of his favorite movies were “Inception”, “Titanic” and “Catch Me If You Can”.

Age, height and net worth

At the time of his death. Michael had short brown hair and brown eyes, his height was 5ft 9ins (1.75m) and he weighed around 155lbs (70kgs).

His net worth was estimated at more than $300,000, while his former wife Bethany’s net worth is estimated at more than $6 million, as of early 2022.
