Lanter’s family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, when he was eight years old, where he attended Collins Hill High School. After his matriculation in 2001, he enrolled at the University of Georgia, majoring in Sports Business. However, he became more interested in becoming a part of the entertainment industry, and eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in this field. In 2004 Lanter became a contestant in the reality television series “Manhunt: The Search for America’s Most Gorgeous Male Model”, making the show’s top 10, and kicking-off his net worth.

The following year he launched his television career, appearing in the series “8 Simple Rules” and “Point Pleasant”, and was then cast with the lead role in the series “Commander-in-Chief”, playing Horace Calloway until 2006. This was followed by recurring roles in the series “Heroes” and “Shark”, and guest appearances in the popular “CSI: Crime and Investigation”, “Monk” and “Grey’s Anatomy”. Paving his way to recognition and fame, Lanter’s net worth started to grow.

Matt expanded his resume by landing several film parts in 2008, among them the leading role as Will Clayton in the comedy film “Disaster Movie”, and as Zach Conroy, another leading part, in the TV film “The Cutting Edge: Chasing the Dream”. The following year he was cast in the popular teen drama series “90210”, a spin-off of the ’90s Fox series “Beverly Hills, 90210”. He played the lead role of rebellious Liam Court, which further boosted his popularity, enabling him to reach the top rungs of the Hollywood ladder. He remained in the show until its cancellation in 2013, which greatly contributed to his wealth.

Meanwhile, he landed the lead role of Edward Sullen in the spoof horror film “Vampires Suck”, based on the “Twilight” franchise, and starred as Jason Tanner in the psychological thriller “The Roomate”, greatly improving his popularity and his net worth as well.

In 2014 Lanter starred as Roman in the short-lived science fiction series “Star-Crossed”. As of 2016 he stars as Master Sergeant Wyatt Logan in the NBC sci-fi series “Timeless”.

When it comes to the big screen, his most recent appearance was in the 2016 war film “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage”. He is currently involved in filming the musical comedy film “Pitch Perfect 3”, showing his versatility.

Lanter has also done some major voice over work; in 2008 he voiced the character of Anakin Skywalker in the 3D animated military science fiction-space opera film “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, which was a massive box-office success, grossing $70 million. He reprized this role in the series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, from 2008 to 2014, and then in two episodes of the animated series “Star Wars Rebels” in 2016. He has also voiced Anakin in various video games based on the franchise. Aside from “Star Wars”, he has provided his voice for the animated series “Ultimate Spider-Man” and “Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated”. All added to his net worth.

When speaking about his private life, Lanter has been married to Angela Stacy since 2013.

3Voice acting is very creative, especially 'Star Wars' voice acting, because there's so much you have to imagine.
4I love the magic of movies and television, and I always have since I was kid.

10If I wasn't an actor, I probably would've tried to get a job with the Braves.
11I do think 'The Notebook' is a darn good movie.

13I'm a bit of a gadget freak.
14I'm a huge sci-fi geek, and I also really get into all of the alien shows on the History Channel where you see air force pilots talking about UFOs - I love that stuff.
