The two then joined disco musician Sylvester, but soon decided to venture out on their own, and started a group called Two Tons of Fun. Their first self-titled studio album came in 1980, and released one more album “Backatcha”, before changing their name to Weather Girls in 1982. With the name change came their most prominent hit single – “It’s Raining Men” – which reached No. 2 in the UK chart and topped the charts in Australia and Europe, while also reaching No. 1 on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart. They existed until 1988, releasing such albums as “Success” (1983), “Big Girls Don’t Cry” (1985), and “Weather Girls” (1988). Izora later reformed the group with her daughter, but Martha stayed out of picture.
