Mark`s career began in 1979, when he became a footwear designer for Nike in the Research and Development facility based in Exeter, New Hampshire. In the following years, Mark began slowly to climb his way up the ladder in the company, and with more responsibility his paycheck was becoming bigger, and so was his net worth. In 1987, he became the Vice President in charge of development, and stayed on in that position for two years, when in 1989 he was appointed as Corporate Vice President, and in 1993, Mark became General Manager. However, with the beginning of the 2000`s his role at Nike became bigger, and in 2001, Mark was promoted to a position of co-president with Charlie Denson. In June this year, it was announced that Mark would succeed Phil Knight as company`s chairman, starting in 2016, which will further increase his net worth.

Thanks to his successful business career, Parker was named as a Business Person of the Year for 2015 by the magazine Fortune.

Additionally to his work as a designer in Nike Company, Parker is also keen on modern art, of which he is a passionate supporter and collector.
