He is an actor and director, perhaps best known for his role as Ritchie Valens in the movie called “La Bamba”. Besides this nomination, he was also presented by Tony Award nomination for his portrayal in “The King and I” . Then in 1998 he appeared in the movie, called “The Big Hit” with the role as “Cisco”. Overall, Lou has appeared in well over 100 movies on the big screen, TV films and series, confirming his versatility and demand for his services from a string of directors.

However, no one was surprised when in 2001 Louis stepped across to a totally different sphere and appeared in television’s popular TV action drama “24”.

Speaking about Lou Diamond Phillips’ personal life, it has been rather dynamic. In 1987 he married Julie Cypher, but they divorced in 1990, after his wife announced publically that she was lesbian.

He was later engaged to Jennifer Tilly, but they never married. Model Kelly Phillips(1994-2007) was his second wife with whom he has three daughters. In 2004 he met artist Yvonne Boismier, and they married in 2007; they have one daughter.
