Lisa Anne Haapaniemi, Niemi for short, was born on the 26th May 1956, in Houston, Texas USA, of Finnish ancestry, and she is an actress, ballet dancer and writer, best known to the for directing, writing and starring in the film “One Last Dance” (2003), which featured her husband Patrick Swayze. Apart from that role, she has also appeared in films “Steel Dawn” (1987), and “Younger and Younger” (1993), among others. Her career began in the mid-1970s.

While she was a student she met her future husband, Patrick Swayze; they began their relationship when she was 15 years old, and married in 1975. Her career also began in 1975, as a ballet dancer, performing in concerts, ballet shows and other events. However, she subsequently benefited mostly from her acting career.

Lisa made her debut in the TV series “Max Headroom” in 1987, and before the 1990s, she featured in the films “Steel Dawn” (1987), alongside Patrick Swayze, “Slam Dance” (1987), and “She`s Having A Baby” (1988).

She continued to be active in the 1990s, landing roles in such films and TV series as “Super Force” (1990), as Carla Frost, which was then made into a TV series of the same name and in which she repeated her role. After that, she featured in “Live! From Death Row” (1992), and “Younger and Younger” (1993). In 2003, she wrote, directed and starred in “One Last Dance”, and then made her last appearance on screen in 2004, in the film “Beat Angel”, starring Vincent Balestri and Frank Tabbita.

Lisa has also been recognized as an author, releasing two books; firstly “Time Of My Life”, co -written by Patrick Swayze, and second “Worth Fighting For”. The two became best-sellers which also added a lot to her net worth.

Regarding her personal life, Lisa was married to Swayze from 1975 until 2009, when he died from pancreatic cancer. The couple didn`t have children, and lived on a farm with horses and other cattle. Five years after Swayze`s death, Lisa married Albert DePrisco, with whom she is still in marriage.

Following the death of her first husband, Lisa became the Chief Ambassador of Hope for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Lisa is also a private pilot, and in fact flew Swayze around to receive treatment during his fatal disease.
