Who is Taylor Misiak?

American actress Taylor Misiak was born in San Francisco, California USA, on 17 February 1992, making Aquarius her zodiac sign. She’s appeared in 18 movies and TV series, and is maybe known best for playing Ally in the popular musical comedy series “Dave”, created by Dave Burd who’s also starring in it alongside Andrew Santino and Gata. The series follows a suburbanite rapper who believes he’s destined to become famous worldwide, it’s been airing since 2020, and has won one of its seven award nominations.

Education and early life

Taylor and her brother Darren were raised in San Francisco by their mother Trina and father Dave Misiak; she avoids speaking about her parents because they prefer to maintain their privacy, but it’s believed that they’re both lawyers.

She was around nine years old when she became interested in acting, and began appearing in plays performed at her elementary school; Taylor continued acting upon enrolling at high school, and was named Minnesota Scholar of Distinction in Theatre Arts. She travelled a lot while growing up, and split her time between Apple Valley, Minnesota and San Francisco, California.

She matriculated in 2010, and then enrolled at Ithaca College, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2014; Taylor worked as a waitress during those four years, to financially support herself.

Roles in movies

Taylor’s debut film role was playing Girl in the 2011 short comedy “Eye Contact with Strangers”, written and directed by Ryan Sager, and which starred Erik Bjarnar, Danny Gendron and Jackson Jarvis. It follows two friends eating at a restaurant, when one of them is distracted by a man eating pasta from a giant bowl.

In 2013, Taylor starred as The Spotter in the short action “The Playground”, written and directed by Nate Lawrence, and which also starred Conor Bell and Eric Dobesh; it follows the high school newspaper club The Monitors who are ruling the school. Taylor could then have been seen appearing in the 2014 romantic drama “Five Hours”, the musical comedy “Lil Dicky: Pillow Talking” and the short comedy “Orient USA: The Bambino” both in 2017.

Also in 2017, she played Vanessa in the short drama “Pause”, while she’s since appeared in only a single movie: Taylor played the lead character Renee in the 2018 comedy “Heavily Meditated (The Series)”, directed by Corrin Evans, and which also starred Joe Chambrello; the movie parodies Los Angeles’ meditation and spiritual community, and it received an Honorable Mention at the 2019 Global Shorts, Los Angeles Awards.

Taylor’s currently shooting for the upcoming movie “Liv”.

Roles in TV series

Taylor’s debut TV series appearance was in the 2013 episode “Alone Again” of the comedy “Social Media Misfits”, and the year 2015 saw her play Co-Ed in the episode “About a Cat Party” of the romantic comedy “About a Boy”, which Jason Katims created, and which starred David Walton, Benjamin Stockham and Al Madrigal. It follows the life of womanizer Will, the series aired in 2014 and 2015, and won one of its two award nominations.

The year 2016 saw Taylor play Best Friend in the episode “I’m Going to the Beach with Josh and His Friends!” of the musical comedy “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”, and in 2018, she starred as Zoe in the comedy “We Are CVNT5”, created by Gareth Emery and Roxanne Emery, and which also starred Paul Holowaty; it follows the lives of members of the electronic dance band CVNT5.

In 2018, Taylor appeared in two episodes of both the crime comedy “American Vandal” and the comedy “I Feel Bad”, and the year 2021 heard her voice Yasmine in nine episodes of the animated comedy “Ten Year Old Tom”.

Her only other TV series role has been playing the supporting character Morgan Watterworth in the 2022 comedy “Players”, created by Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, and which starred Misha Brooks, Da’Jour Jones and Ely Henry. It follows the members of a “League of Legends” team who haven’t won a championship in years.

Other credits

Taylor directed the 2019 comedy mini-series “Meg & Mike Sell Drugs”.

She’s recently made a guest appearance in talk-shows “We Need to Talk About Britney” and “In Creative Company”.

Love life and boyfriend

Taylor avoids speaking about her love life in public, but it’s known that she’s today in a relationship with American screenwriter, producer and director Tony Yacenda. The two haven’t spoken about when they began dating, but it’s widely believed that it was in 2019 while they were shooting together for the first episodes of the series “Dave”; Tony directed five episodes of the series, while he’s also known for directing 16 episodes of the crime comedy series “American Vandal”.

Taylor and Tony seem to be happy, and have both uploaded pictures and videos onto their social media accounts, which feature them together.

Taylor hasn’t spoken of other men whom she’s maybe been with, she’s in a relationship with Tony Yacenda as of March 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Taylor enjoys running her Instagram account, and there are today over 120,000 people following her, while she’s posted close to 650 pictures and videos; most of these feature her shooting for her movies and TV series, while others show her spending time with friends.

Taylor’s passionate about travelling, and has recently been to Rome, Italy; her two favorite travel destinations are Miami, Florida and Paris, France.
