Kelly Ann McGillis, born on the 9th July 1957, is an American actress who became famous through her roles in the movie “Witness”, “Top Gun”, and “The Accused.”

So how much is McGillis’ net worth? As of mid 2016, it is estimated by authoritative sources to be $7.5 million, acquired from her years of acting on stage, movie and television, but also including her being a restaurant owner and acting teacher.

Born in Newport Beach, California, McGillis is the daughter of Virginia Joan and Donald Manson. Even at a young age McGillis always had a love for acting. To hone her skills, in high school she attended Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Santa Maria, California, and later the Drama Division of the Julliard School in New York, graduating in 1983.

Right after graduation, McGillis was able to land a supporting role in the movie “Reuben, Reuben”, which was her first movie, which helped her net worth to rise, and opened a lot of doors in the world of movie and television. In 1985, she became part of the box-office hit thriller “Witness” with Harrison Ford, which was not only a hit among audiences, but it also led her to being nominated in the Golden Globes’ and BAFTA.

With the success of “Witness”, Hollywood took notice of McGillis’ performance, and later she landed a role to another hit movie, “Top Gun”. Her role as Charlie Blackwood along with Tom Cruise and Van Kilmer saw the film become the top grossing movie of 1986, and cemented her as a premier leading woman. Then followed “The Accused”, another award winning movie along actress Jodie Foster. Her number of top-grossing films tremendously increased her wealth and catapulted her to stardom.

After a string of successful movies, McGillis decided to focus on television, and did fewer films so she could spend more time with her family. Some of the projects she did in the ’90’s include “Cat Chaser”, “North”, “At First Sight” and “The Monkey’s Mask”, all of which helped maintain her career and wealth.

In 2004, McGillis went back on stage and played the coveted part of Mrs. Robinson in the production of “The Graduate”. She also became part of the stage play “Little Foxes”, produced by the Pasadena Playhouse. It was followed by “Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune” in 2010, which toured around the United Kingdom.

Some of McGillis recent activities include working for Seabrook House Drug Alcohol Rehab Center in Bridgeton in New Jersey, where she works alongside alcoholics and drug addicts. Her passion for acting also led her to become a teacher at The New York Studio for Stage and Screen NYS3.

McGillis also became an entrepreneur. She and her then husband Fred Tillman opened “Kellys’ Caribbean Bar Grill & Brewery” that also added in her net worth.

In terms of McGillis’ personal life, she was once married to Boyd Black in 1979, one of her classmates in Julliard, however, the marriage only lasted for a couple of years, ending in divorce in 1981.

In 1989, McGillis married Fred Tillman. The couple have two daughters, but ended their relationship in 2002. In 2010 she had a brief relationship with bartender Melanie Leis, but the two broke up in 2011.
