Keith Alan Lockhart, born on the 7th of November 1959, is an American conductor and music director who became famous for working with the Boston Pops Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, the Utah Symphony and various other local and international groups.

Born in Poughkeepsie, New York State, Lockhart is the son of Newton Frederick and Marilyn Jean and the oldest of three children. He spent most of his time growing up near Wappingers Falls and studied in New York’s Duchess Country area. He also learned to play the piano at the age of seven that led him to pursue it professionally later on in life. Lockhart studied at Furman University, graduating with a degree in German and piano performance. He also obtained his master’s degree in orchestral conducting at Carnegie Mellon University.

Lockhart’s career started as an associated conductor for Cincinnati Symphony and Cincinnati Pops orchestra. He also worked as the music director of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, and later on in 1995, he was appointed as conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra, and in 1998, the musical director for Utah Symphony, a position he held until 2009.

In 2010, Lockhart also worked with the BBC Concert Orchestra, serving as their principal conductor, and lent his talent as Artistic Director for the Brevard Music Center, a summer program that he had attended himself during his younger years. All his positions helped establish his career, and also his net worth.

Aside from his lead conducting roles, Lockhart has also conducted as a guest for other groups throughout his career. He has led the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the NHK Symphony in Tokyo, and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin to name a few. Lockhart has also produced albums with the Boston Pops; some of them include “A Boston Pops Christmas-Live from Symphony Hall”, “Sleigh Ride”, and “The Red Sox Album” among others. His works with RCA Victor on the album “The Celtic Album” also led him to a Grammy nomination.

Today, Lockhart has been married to his third wife, Emiley Zalesky, an attorney, since 2007, and with whom he has a son named Edward.
