Justine grew up in Denver, where she received her primary education. She comes from an artistic family; her maternal grandmother, Kay Schomp, was an actress, and has a theatre named after her at the Denver School of Arts, while her father, John Lupe, works as an exhibition specialist at the Denver Art Museum. Her brother, Collin also works in the movie industry as a cinematographer and cameraman.

Justine started acting during her teenage years, and appeared in many high school productions of plays. After matriculating, she enrolled at the Denver School of Arts, from which she graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in theatre. Justine then moved to New York City to pursue a full-time career as an actress, and enrolled at the prestigious Julliard School, graduating in 2011.

Justine made her TV series debut in 2011, when she appeared in an episode of the crime mystery drama “Unforgettable”. In the following year, she appeared in eight episodes of the Emmy-winning comedy crime drama “Harry’s Law”, which starred Kathy Bates, Nate Corddry and Christopher McDonald.
In 2014 and 2015, she played the role of Maddie in the ABC sitcom “Cristela”, created by and starring the comedienne Cristela Alonzo.
