Alex Curry was born on 27 May 1987 under the zodiac sign of Gemini, in Manhattan Beach, California USA. She is of White Caucasian ethnicity and holds American nationality. Alex is the oldest of four sisters; her father, Tim Curry was an entrepreneur, while her mother, Peggy was the homemaker.

Career

Alex’s career kicked off partially while she was in college. She interned with Fuel TV and Joel Lewis Production Company as a production assistant in her freshman year.

Upon her graduation, she worked as a bartender, and hosted some events for free to build her portfolio.

She met the Fox Sports Producer who would turn her life around when bartending at a popular sports bar Baja Sharkeez, in Manhattan Beach.

Coincidentally, she also met her future manager Peter Gallagher in that period, who quickly signed her up for additional representation at ICM. Speaking of Curry’s talent, Gallagher said, ‘she is just herself, and it comes across on camera. Her drive doesn’t emanate from a lack of esteem or need for attention; she genuinely loves to get to know people, and tell their stories.’

Alex accepted a role as a production assistant on the late-night show “Last Call With Carson Daly” in 2010, and within two years post-graduation, Curry had also worked as a talent manager for ESPN’s “X Games”, and a host on “E! News Now” and “Fuel TV Download”.

In 2011, Alex spent a month in China, covering the World University Games for Fox College Sports. However, 2012 was Alex’s breakthrough year – she signed a contract with NBC, which had her traveling worldwide to cover the action sports program “Red Bull Signature Series”, and the “Pro Beach Volleyball” program on NBC Sports.

Still in 2012, she hosted the campus sports tour, “Tailgate 48” on Big Ten Network, and served as the sideline reporter for the CIF- SS football game of the week on FS1 and Fox Sports West.

After a series of freelance partnerships with FOX, Alex Curry joined FOX Sports West in 2012, to host its Friday shows “Angels Weekly” and “Kings Weekly”.

Two years later, she took on more roles as the reporter of the Angels’ and Kings’ respective telecasts, also joining the broadcast team to cover the “Kings 2014 Stanley Cup Championship”. She has since won three Telly awards for her contribution to the Angels and Kings weekly shows.

Soon after her graduation, Dana landed her first television job as a fill-in news anchor at WPBN/WTOM-TV, in Traverse City, Michigan, where she spent two years. Although she was an intern, when a news director offered her a position covering “Big 10 Sports”, she accepted. During in her future career.

From 1996 to 1998, she served as a reporter for KXTV’s program “Monday Night Football”, an affiliate of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) in Sacramento, California. While at KXTV, Dana became the weekend sports anchor, and received a National Headliner Award in 1998. Dana also worked as a radio show host for the Sacramento Kings, a National Basketball Association (NBA) team, d in 2000 won the Edward R. Murrow Award for her coverage. Dana reported on a number of stories about the Sacramento Kings, including profiles of players such as Chris Webber, Mike Bibby and Jason Williams.

Dana stated that as a woman in sports, she had to earn the respect of her male colleagues because there were so few female reporters and anchors. Whether she was covering news or sports, Dana said that telling each person’s story in an emotional and moving way made a difference, and has stayed with her.

Dana began working for ESPN in December 2002, and at first served as a news anchor on “SportsCenter”. In 2005, she was named co-host of ESPN2’s morning show “Cold Pizza”, alongside Jay Crawford. In May 2007, the show moved from New York to Bristol, Connecticut studio, and was re-named “First Take”.

She was occasionally a fill-in anchor for the ESPN Radio show “Mike and Mike in the Morning”, hosted by Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg.

In January 2008, at a private roast for associates Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, Dana cursed the University of Notre Dame’s Touchdown Jesus. Dana and ESPN issued an apology to those who were offended by the roasting comments, and ESPN suspended Dana for one week, and upon her return, she apologized on air for her behavior and comments.

In 2012, Dana accepted the offer from CBS, and began serving as a co-host of the radio show “TBD in the AM”, then three years later, she joined CBS News as an anchor and reporter. In 2018, Dana and her fellow correspondent, Michelle Miller, were named the new hosts of “CBS This Morning”.

In October 2018, Dana was honored by the Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation as a Hall of Fame inductee.

Currently, Dana works for CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network as a substitute anchor, and is the host of the show “We Need to Talk”, and a co-host of “CBS Saturday Morning”.

On 18 October 2018, in the edition of “CBS Morning”, host Gayle King announced that Dana had become engaged – her long-term boyfriend Sean David Grande proposed to her, and she shared the news with her co-workers.

Her then-fiancée and future husband, Sean is the Boston Celtics play-by-play announcer, television and radio sportscaster, and a native of New York City, who graduated from Boston University in 1993. Sean was previously married, and has a son named Jack was born in 2011. Dana has never been married before.
