Izabel was born into a family of seven children, and is of Italian and Portuguese descent. During her schooling, she was bullied and often made fun of due to her skinny build, however, when she was fourteen years old she moved to Sao Paulo to pursue a modeling career, and soon moved to France, nit it wasn’t until she was 17 that she returned to Brazil where her fashion career was launched by the director of Major Models Brazil. At her first appearance in a fashion show, Goulart faced a wardrobe malfunction when her top fell open, and the incident ended up in numerous Brazilian newspapers. She continued on the runway modeling collections for such prestigious designers as Balenciaga, Isabel Marant, Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta, and later continuing with Valentino, Jil Sander, Chanel, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Emilio Pucci, Roberto Cavalli and many others. During her career Isabel also modeled for H&M, Missoni, DSquared and Express.

In April 2005, Goulart appeared on the covers of Marie Claire France and later that year in Vogue Brazil. It was a lucrative year for Isabel, as she was also contracted as a Victoria’s Secret Angel – a highlight for any model – and appeared in their Fashion Shows, and thanks to which two years later, Isabel was given a star on the Hollywood “Walk of Fame”. Although her contract notionally expired in 2008, Goulart continued walking in the VS Angels Fashion shows until 2015.

Isabel replaced her colleague Alessandra Ambrosio as Armani Exchange A/X face in 2008, and was featured in three seasonal print campaigns for the label. She has also worked with top photographers including Greg Kadel, Terry Richardson and Vincent Peters for French and Japanese publications of Vogue, Spanish Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, Allure and Numero. In 2010 Goulart was featured in the October issue of GQ Mexico, Vogue Brasil and Avon campaign, and was declared the best international top model by Mexican Glamour magazine.

During 2011 she posed for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, appeared in Dolce and Gabbana 2011 campaign, Pre-Fall campaign for Yamamay’s 10Th Anniversary Collection and Givenchy, DKNY Jeans campaigns. That same year, she was ranked no.100 on the list of 100 Sexiest Women in the World by FHM magazine, and the following year was named “Fashion Personality of the Year” by Isto e Gente Brazilian magazine. She became the face of MAC Cosmetics in mid-2013, and promoted Agua De Coco beachwear collection in 2014. Goulart was also elected as “International Woman of the Year” in December 2013 by GQ Portugal magazine.

When it comes to her private life, Isabel has been dating footballer Kevin Trapp since 2015. She is well-known for her charitable work – as her brother has type 1 diabetes, she helps hospitals in her native county to raise money and provide free insulin for children in need, and is actively taking part in the work of Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami. She became their international ambassador in 2009 and helps the work of the institute through her numerous travels. Goulart is fluent in Portuguese, French and English.
